||||||||| Catherwood announces, "The time is 4:33 AM - I now declare Thursday's chat log for March 18, 2004 officially open!"... and then, he retires back to the vestibule...

Danny: whew!

Merlyn: Just in time...
Merlyn: got any vanilla, danny?
||||||||| Outside, the 9:01 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Bunnyboy coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!"
||||||||| "9:01 PM? 9:01 PM!!" says Catherwood, "cease should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as cease enters and sits on the couch.
Bunnyboy: lo dere
cease: hello again
ah,clem :)
Bunnyboy: An early pop, before the arrival of The Bunny Bride.
Merlyn: got the skybird notice up, I see
cease: is skybird broadcasting any firesign now?
Danny: yes
Bunnyboy: Is that REPLY s'posed to be REPLAY?
Merlyn: fighting clowns & GMI
Merlyn: but the announcement was "give me liberty" not "immortality"
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood pipes up: "9:03 PM and late as usual, it's JoMammy Yamamto, just back from Billville."
cease: oh yes, i heard this on saturday
Danny: the more you listen the more you hear
cease: being played with GMI makes even F Clowns sound good
Bunnyboy: IF 9 ET = YES; REPLAY
Danny: Hop to!
Bunnyboy: Faux code.
Bunnyboy: Oh, there's the Shoes.
Danny: Bunny slippers?
Bunnyboy: CLOWNS is fine cabaret.
JoMammy Yamamto: I like bunny slippers
cease: there's a phone in my shoe
JoMammy Yamamto: I have two
ah,clem: yes et
JoMammy Yamamto: I may fade in and out, I'm trying to ruin an old computer
Danny: Watch for the 3rd on Easter
Bunnyboy: Back when REAGAN was a joke...that not everyone had heard.
ah,clem: LOL BB
Merlyn: we both changed the notice at the same time
cease: the firesign sort of faded away when reagan was elected
cease: better than neal young supporting him
Bunnyboy: Le Grande Irony
Merlyn: I took out the code that brings up a new window for the skybird link, let me know if it screws up anyone
||||||||| 9:09 PM: Dr. Headphones jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past hour!"
Bunnyboy: lo Headly
cease: hi kend
JoMammy Yamamto: oi ken
Danny: I have bunny phones
Dr. Headphones: yo, dear friends
JoMammy Yamamto: That's "Heady!"
JoMammy Yamamto: I have a bunny, so there
Dr. Headphones: i'm in my linux computer, and can only get 15 lines at a time. i will exit, return shortly from windows.
||||||||| At 9:10 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, Dr. Headphones!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
Bunnyboy: Multiple minutes
||||||||| Outside, the 9:10 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Dr. Headphones coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Danny: return from the window pane?
JoMammy Yamamto: I'm trying to ruin an old Dell 450 w/Linux even as you speak
Dr. Headphones: ah, much better screen resolution, can read more
Bunnyboy: I'll see your bunny, and raise you 1 more bunny, and a froo-froo dog!
||||||||| Outside, the 9:10 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Dave coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Dr. Headphones: and davey jones himself appears
Bunnyboy: lo Dave
JoMammy Yamamto: I finally found a serial modem
Dave: and you thought I was gone forever! I know I was missed, people wept on the log so I couldn't read it or burn it
JoMammy Yamamto: Davey Jones? Where's yr locker?
Dr. Headphones: yam: i have 2 running linux here, in addition to this one on winxp, but can't get the screen resolution from them i can in here
Danny: better than a serial killer
Bunnyboy: Bunnette and I finally watched ADAPTATION last weekend. Highly enjoyable!
Merlyn: dave, skybird radio is streaming firesign's "fighting clowns" at
Bunnyboy: And HYSTERICAL!
Dr. Headphones: danny: are you new? or just someone old in a new suit? i feel like breaking into song....
cease: hi dave
Dr. Headphones sings--"OH DANNY BOY....."
Bunnyboy: Show us your muscles!
JoMammy Yamamto: I have a new suit every week. Lawyers love me
Danny: nukular warp
cease: really, bunny? I loathed adaptation. worst flick i'
cease: i've seen in years
Bunnyboy: Dja all hear about Courtney Love's latest stunts?
Dr. Headphones: lol, yam :)
JoMammy Yamamto: Y
Bunnyboy: That's right, she's not just bipolar, she's bi-coastal!
Dr. Headphones: bun: hear about it? hell, i watched on tv last night
JoMammy Yamamto: Showing Letterman her Panama
cease: is that what she calls it?
Bunnyboy: Whilst sing DANNY BOY
Danny: was his name Mike?
Dr. Headphones: you mean her david lynch "twin peaks"?
Bunnyboy: ehrm SINGING
Dr. Headphones: you call that singing? i sure don't
Dr. Headphones: i would almost bet that she doesn't get invitied back there
Danny: she needs a brass pole
Dave: I won't actually be talking much right now, got a backup going from my braille lite, laptop for the blind basically, so I'm handling that as well as music and a chat session, multitasking to the 5th power! so I'll check in once I get a large batch of files going in
Bunnyboy: Then she got busted for using a microphone stand as a spear, at some club.
ah,clem: ho Ken
Danny: or a crass pol
ah,clem: in
Dr. Headphones: i ain't no ho! i gives it away fo' free
cease: but does anybody want it?
Bunnyboy: She beaned some poor sap with a flying mike stand. Of course, it WAS his fault...for standing there, like a dope!
ah,clem: that was Hi Ken welcome in
JoMammy Yamamto: nobody gotta be a ho no mo
Danny: this water is cold! deep too
cease: gonna take turns, yammy?

Bunnyboy: We all gwine take toins! And guess who's toinin' ovah NOW!
Dr. Headphones: i was trying to feed my kitten a piece of fish as supper, she swiped at me to get it, and now i have very nice scab on side of finger
cease: should have a couple of kittens in a couple of weeks
||||||||| 9:18 PM: Bambi jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past hour!"
Danny: don't pick it! it'll get bigger
Bunnyboy: Everybody, shed a tear for REAGAN, the song that shoulda been.
Dr. Headphones: hey bambi, you deer ;)
Bunnyboy: lo Bambi. Doh!
Bambi: Hi ah,clem, BB, Cat, Danny (Warp?), Dave, Ken, Yammy, Merlyn ... how's it going?
Danny: Hi Bambi!
Merlyn: shoulda been what?
cease: 2wmy dog keeps putting a tennis ball on my keyboard
Dr. Headphones: i shudda been a contendah....
Bambi: Thanks!
Danny: Dan=Warp...
Dr. Headphones: ah, mr. os/2 :)
cease: hi bambi
ah,clem: we knew, Warp
Danny: shhhhh
ah,clem: too may clues
Bambi: yeah, well we kinda guessed Danny :)
Bunnyboy: Head: I temped for a spell at IBM, when os/2 was first making the rounds.
Bambi: Good to 'see' you all!
Danny: as if I didn't give enough hints in IRC
Bambi: Good to 'see' you all!
ah,clem: you did, that is why I knew.
Bambi: well, actually, ah,clem got it ... I was a bit slow on the uptake lol
Bunnyboy: They used to broadcast little 10 minute motivational video segments, all over the building, over strategically placed video monitors.
ah,clem: and I told Bambi, but she would have guessed.
Danny: awww Bambi. I gave you a hint a week ago
cease: i used to be absent from this chat for weeks and it was actually noticed. i see that
cease: no longer the case
Bambi smiels
Dr. Headphones: bun: kinda like what walmart does now?
ah,clem: odd expression
Bambi: you were definitely missed Cat!!
Dr. Headphones: cat: of course we missed you, but we suspected you would eventually return
JoMammy Yamamto: Yes
JoMammy Yamamto: cats always do
cease: i'm gonna avoid thursay classes and overseas travel for a while
Bunnyboy: I vividly remember the national VP, or somesuch, addressing a broadcast meeting, and invoking the names of operating systems: Windows, Mac and os /2.
cease: with tennis playing dog and new kittens, how can i leave?
JoMammy Yamamto: New Kittens?
Bunnyboy: When he said os/2, he punctuated it with (I kid you not) a thumbs-up sign.
Danny: sthat VP was warped like me
Dr. Headphones: i watched neat video last night of novell/SCO guy giving hell to current "unix owner"
cease: they were born the beginning of feb. we get them in april
Danny: only the FBI uses it any more....
Dr. Headphones: efram zimbalist jr. presents: OS/2: the case of the missing operating system
Bambi: you have new kittens Ken?
Bunnyboy: Come to think of it, IBM was one of the creepiest places I ever worked...and I've worked for lawyers!
cease: hey merl, just read a funny joke about minnesota today, involving cats
Dr. Headphones: oh no, bambi, my beanie baby, about 9 months old did that to me
Dr. Headphones: bun: don't admit that to too many people
cease: did you get that piece i sent to ossman and cc'd you and doc about the uncrushed dwarf?
Bambi: lol
Danny: rolls on the floor laughing his OS off
Bunnyboy: That's the Feline Solution. Move them all to Minnesota. Bwah-ah-ah! ; )
Merlyn: I couldn't get to the link, cat
JoMammy Yamamto: I had an OS 2 disc set. Gave it to the Salvation Army
Dr. Headphones: i bet jesse venture eats kitten heads for breakfast
Bambi: hmmm, laughing his OS/2 off ... does that mean he's wearing a new RedHat?
Bambi: or maybe a Fedora?
Danny: no, just my pants
Dr. Headphones: fedora sucks compared to the older redhats. JMHO. i have rh9 and mandrake 9.2 running now on my two
cease: it's from the pot-tv.net forum Stoner Humour. I was just looking for it there but dont know the title of the post
JoMammy Yamamto: I got a free set of Suse 8.1
Danny: where's my bong?
cease: the 3 mice story is from today's.
Merlyn: You sent a big long URL in some kind of wrapper, but I couldn't get it to work
Bunnyboy: "There's a penguin on the PC." "What's it doing there?" "Processing..."
JoMammy Yamamto: Junior made a lamp of it
Dr. Headphones: if you knew suse like i know suse......
Dr. Headphones: yam: if you're looking for bootable cd that runs on its own, try knoppix. much better and easier to use than suse
Danny: back to where it once belonged
ah,clem: I keep the old dist and multiboot, that way no loss, each has it's own strongpoints.
cease: really? then i'm sure ossman never got it. bummer as it has to do with the origin of the title "dont crush that dwarf, hand me the pliers"
Merlyn: my anti-spam logic is keeping tons of spammers out of the guestbook and MFP
Bunnyboy: Dja all hear about the new Showtime musical production in the works? It's the film version of the off-Broadway and LA hit show, REEFER MADNESS.
Dr. Headphones: bun: musical? hell, the only music in it was the maniacal piano player
cease: i can probably print it out and send it as a word doc or something.
ah,clem: and play with bootables too, like the new knoppix, a great tool
Bunnyboy: New myoozik, Ken.
cease: one of the origins that the firesign mentioned was left over dwarves from wizard of oz, working in factories wiring airplanes in ww2
ah,clem: suse boot demo fun but a bit odd for a redhat guy.
Dr. Headphones: clem: i will probably eventually try the multi-booting, but each of my machines has 4G hda and much larger hdb that i use only for data, so room for only one distro on each one unless i pare down functionality severely
Danny: Dang! I"m out of Guiness!
Bunnyboy: And Ralph, the drug addict ("Faster! Play FASTER!") is being played by John Kassir, who reprises his role from the show.
Dr. Headphones: dan/warp: you mean some was left over from yesterday's irish drinking binge?
ah,clem: srore run, Dan,
Bunnyboy: Kassir is best know as Buster Bunny on TINY TOONS, and the voice of the Cryptkeeper on TALES FROM THE CRYPT.
Danny: no, her name was Guiness... she ran out SCREAMING!
Bambi: good White Russian here
Merlyn: the same guy from the 30's movie?
cease: good one, danny
ah,clem: ok glad you cleared that up.
Dr. Headphones: dah. white russian good drink. josef stalin loved them ;)
Bunnyboy: Merl: Naw, the stage show BASED on the 30's flick.
ah,clem: have a beer Dan, you will be OK
Danny: she was sore
Bambi: well, that wasn't really why I like them
Bambi: I just love drinks with a milk base
Merlyn: oh, I got confused about "reprising" his role
Bunnyboy: Gee, the circles under the eyes would be VERY pronounced if...if...
Dr. Headphones: clem/bambi: did eventually get server running again here. problem was that rwx------ stuff. had to learn all that "chown" and "chmod" stuff with 777 and -R
Bambi: lol
Dave: wo, I justlogged in again and it kept my message log
Bambi: yes, makes your head spin initially doesn't it Ken?
Dr. Headphones: you were gone? didn't see you leave
Bunnyboy: Anybody catch the TV Land Awards last nite? Lotta aging personalities, boy...
Dave: no my comp froze, well, screen reader, same thing, and I got that batch thing to work by the way Ken
Danny: missed that bunny
Merlyn: I think that has to do with the earth orbiting the sun
ah,clem: you need to load and learn "mc" then no need to worry over perms
||||||||| Outside, the 9:37 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving sick-as-klokwkdog coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
sick-as-klokwkdog: hello folks
Dr. Headphones: bambi: could "get there" but couldn't see anything. once i changed permissions, worked great
cease: hi klok
Dr. Headphones: hi klokster
ah,clem: is all arrow key and click
sick-as-klokwkdog: welcome bak to the chat, Cat
Dr. Headphones: ah, he's coughing diesel fumes, that's why he's sick
Danny: steps away from the sick one...
ah,clem: is all arrow key and click
Dr. Headphones: clem: with my hair, no worry over perms anyway ;)
Bunnyboy: There was a wonderful Bad TV moment: Cybil Shepherd sang the theme to MOONLIGHTING.
sick-as-klokwkdog has the creeping crud
Bunnyboy: hi klok. Sorry for the sickies.
Dr. Headphones: bun: glad i missed it then......
Bambi: Have been there Ken! definitely frustrating until you figure it out!
Dave moves away from the sick dog
ah,clem: bambi: coffee and dogs are done
Danny: starts coughing
cease: watchinga great prorgramme about dien bien phu, parallels to iraq
sick-as-klokwkdog fears this is bad enough to infect via the chat... ;-)
Bambi: bet that was a die to miss kinda thing lol
Danny: eeeer
cease: on our history channel , no doubt different from yours
Dave is now singing loudly while he multimultitasksssss
Bambi: oooo ... brb ...
Dr. Headphones: cat: pbs here pledge drive programming. i have choice of lawrence welk's "god bless america" and dr. wayne dwyer "secrets to success" or some such tripe
Dr. Headphones: i have on history channel, about saddam
||||||||| JoMammy Yamamto departs at 9:40 PM, singing "Toad away, toad away; toad away, toad away! Where do you go when you're toad away?"
sick-as-klokwkdog: got bad review in the NYT, Ken
Dave: as much as I wanted it when we got satelite, I've hardly watched the istory channel, come to that I don't watch TV much anymore
Dr. Headphones: which one, klok? welk, dwyer, or saddam?
sick-as-klokwkdog: KCRW is doing remote from Austin and they are doing....rap???!
sick-as-klokwkdog: saddam
Danny: thank you Dave....
Dr. Headphones: it's mainly on for noise. i should listen to skybird, i suppose :)
sick-as-klokwkdog: oh, forgot skybird! definitely!
cease: yeah i heard atc from 4-6
Danny: Dave?,....
sick-as-klokwkdog: kexp is playing OK stuff, rockabilly
Bunnyboy: Hey! Skybird's bot identifyed GMI as "GIVE ME LIBERTY, OR GIVE ME DEATH"
Merlyn: "immortality"
Danny: Stop Dave....
cease: i'll have the cake
ah,clem: hope you feel better klok
Danny: That tickles, Dave
Dave: eh? are there two of us or somethin'?
sick-as-klokwkdog: gettin' there, Clem, but I don't think I'll have that beer tonight ;-)
Dr. Headphones: ah, now i'm cooking with gas and a new focus group :)
Bunnyboy: Was it really only 6 years ago that I was listening to Richard Fish's choppy sneak preview stream of GMI?
Bunnyboy: Well, was it?
Danny: this is awesome
Dr. Headphones: was it that long?
Bunnyboy: Who else remembers that? Merl? cat?
Dr. Headphones: i think i pre-ordered it and had it the day of release
cease: fish streamed it before it came out?
cease: proc sent me a copy
Merlyn: I remember listening to it and saving it
Dr. Headphones: fish stream? zip your fly rod up!
Merlyn: lots of dropout on my end
Danny: mmmm ribs
cease: interesting to read fish's post of alt.firesign about lodestone
cease: glad to hear rumours of its death have been premature
Dr. Headphones: cat: yes, and some angry replies to it also
Bunnyboy: cat: Yeah, it was an authorized thing. I remember, they were also interviewing Proctor and Ossman from Dave's house, and Bergman from a cell phone, in a restaurant.
Danny: I love my big ugly dish
Merlyn: that recent post was an old repost by someone else
Bambi: back again with the hotdoggies and fresh brewed coffee ....yummmmmm
Danny: NO! it's a parabola!
cease: so fish broadcast it on his radio show?
Bunnyboy: Merl: Yeah, those were the herky-jerky days of streaming.
cease: did you hear it live streaming, bunny?
Danny: Silly
Bambi: (hot dogs cooked in beer and onions)
Dr. Headphones: mmm, bambi, sounds good to me!
Bunnyboy: Drop-outs here, too. And speaking of...Skybird just cut out. Hmmm.
Merlyn: working fine for me BB
Bunnyboy: My dropout.
Bunnyboy: It's back

Bambi: server's still up ... connect again :)
Danny: the bord is solid here too
ah,clem: yes good dog Bambi
Bambi: solid here too
sick-as-klokwkdog: BTW, Skybird's "Friday Night Live" is quite a trip...
Danny: erm BIRD!
||||||||| It's 9:50 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Dave - dead from the fiddlers
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
sick-as-klokwkdog: kind of a techhie Rush Limbaugh
Bunnyboy: cat: Yes, my first experience of GMI was a bumby one. Barely intelligible. Piqued my interest, that's for sure!
Dr. Headphones: klok: i haven't lsitened lately, but he IS funny at times, and lots of good info too
Bambi: ah, oh! Dave dead from the fiddlers ... those musicians'll git'cha!

sick-as-klokwkdog: only snippets
||||||||| Catherwood trudges in at 9:52 PM, dragging Dave by one foot and asks "Can anyone vouch for this bozo?"
sick-as-klokwkdog: before now, only snippets
Bunnyboy: klok: You've never listened to GMI?
Dr. Headphones: bozo dave returns

Bunnyboy: klok: GMI is $10.99 at Amazon. Drop the dime!
Bambi: (you died of fiddlers Dave)
Dr. Headphones: hi, elayne
sick-as-klokwkdog: gas headed for $5/gal and we're antagonizing Venezuela. Brilliant
Bunnyboy: lo Elayne
cease: hi el!
Danny: smiles at the grape
Dr. Headphones: those castro-loving socialists? :)
Elayne: Ah, excellent, GMIOGMD! Been awhile since I've heard that one. Evenin' all!
Dave: I did? ok then
Bunnyboy: Me love is packing a burger for me. Nite, y'all. May BBL.
ah,clem: Hi E!
Dr. Headphones: later, bun
sick-as-klokwkdog: sorry, Bun, it's a luxury I can't afford. everything is. got a KVM switch for $20 this week only because my 1993 #2 monitor is near the smoking stage
Merlyn: nite bb
||||||||| Catherwood trudges in at 9:56 PM, dragging Elayne Again by one foot and asks "Can anyone vouch for this bozo?"
cease: by bb
Dr. Headphones: klok: i thought you had to be 18 to smoke.....
Elayne Again: Well, my first attempt failed, I couldn't read anything. Could someone kill off the dead Elayne?
sick-as-klokwkdog: the MAG smoked before, when it was only 5; it's on borrowed time
Bunnyboy: Luxury? Man, it's SOUL FOOD!
Elayne Again: Bye Bunnyboy!
Bambi: night BB
||||||||| Merlyn aka 'The Reaper' has killed off Elayne at 9:56 PM
Elayne Again: Thanks. BRB.
||||||||| At 9:56 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, Elayne Again!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
Bunnyboy: Of course, I am...insane.
||||||||| Catherwood leads Elayne inside, makes a note of the time (9:56 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
sick-as-klokwkdog: enjoy, Bun!
Bunnyboy: I mean, NOT INSANE!
Bambi: ah, Catherwood, sure, we can vouche for Elayne Again :)
Elayne: Okay, let's try that again. Evenin' all!
Elayne turns on Skybird...

Dr. Headphones: howdy, e-girl
Danny: Hello E
sick-as-klokwkdog: the people say, "Necrophilia!"
Bambi: hey Elayne! Good ta see ya!
Bunnyboy: see ya El
||||||||| Bunnyboy leaves at 9:57 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
Dr. Headphones: or, for you candy lovers, "neccophilia"
Elayne: Ah, the Princess Goddess Doll Drop...

||||||||| At 10:01 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, Elayne!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
||||||||| Outside, the 10:01 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Elayne coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Elayne: Right, that's it. No Skybird for me tonight...

cease: oh, i see Ghosts of Vietnam is a canuck show. superb. too bad you can't see it
cease: your country that needs it the most
Elayne: Yeah, maybe it's 'cause I have Bloglines (a blog newsreader) open as well.
Elayne: It's wonderful, it's like forward into the past! I can read blogs now the way I used to read Usenet.
sick-as-klokwkdog: oh, it sounded like The Ten Thousand Day War, Cat
Dr. Headphones: cat: wish i could get cbc shows here. i have to put up with us tv 23.5 hours, get bbc news at 6pm every night for 1/2 hour
Bambi: yeah, the newsreader 'll do it Elayne LOL

Dr. Headphones: i tried that, dave, it's the connection somewhere. just won't work right now

Dr. Headphones: uh oh, should have been "private" message
ah,clem: yea, that is a silly one bambi
sick-as-klokwkdog: Ken, you got broadband -- you can get tiny window video of news from all over world
Bambi: yes, very silly
sick-as-klokwkdog: not much fun for watching documentaries or drama, though
Dr. Headphones: yeah, klok, i've tried that, but it wearies me to watch 2" x 3" window and quality doesn't allow enlargement
Danny: iat;s timbot gone wild
Danny: erm timbot on acid
ah,clem: chow or gato? I love that. he he
Dr. Headphones: "i do not eat dog"
sick-as-klokwkdog: so where's DT? Tried to visit Sunday -- no response, mailbox full
cease: how do you say that in korean?
Danny: what do you eat then, cat?
Dr. Headphones: klok: i had some emails to him bounce back also
||||||||| Catherwood escorts doctec in through the front door at 10:10 PM, picks up his cues (only slightly scorched), and heads for the billiard room.
||||||||| doctec leaves to catch the 10:10 PM train to Hellmouth.
cease: no, i am cat. i usually eat fish
ah,clem: yes they use all the various festival voices, on e for each blog, a riot
Dr. Headphones: speak of the debbil!
||||||||| Outside, the 10:10 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving doctec coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
cease: and speaking of delirium tremons....
doctec: there we go
cease: hello again, doc
ah,clem: hi Doc

Elayne: Hey Tom!
doctec: hi gang
cease: is lili in india?
Dr. Headphones: doc: your cell? you were in jail over the weekend?
Elayne: Don't call him in his cell, they're tapping the lines.
doctec: saturday and most of sunday i was at lili's place
sick-as-klokwkdog caught his current creeping crud from someone on Sunday anyway
doctec: patellel hell indeed
Dr. Headphones: who's that tap tap tapping?
sick-as-klokwkdog: Tom - I never got any emails at the time or later or anything
cease: its the president of the united states
sick-as-klokwkdog: sorry you were sick; I'm suffering thru it now myself
Dr. Headphones: asskkkroft (sans gall bladder) and his VoIP tapping
ah,clem: they, them you know, not us
doctec: klok: what i meant was, by the time i got your email you had already taken off - i didn't have a chance to respond
doctec: you sent the email and left like 20 mins later
sick-as-klokwkdog: understood
doctec: i don't pop my home email acct all that often from the office during the day
Dr. Headphones: read interesting piece about gall bladder problems referencing ashcroft. says most people with that problem are constipated. i always KNEW he was full of s**t!
cease: indeed
doctec: i read your email 2 hrs after you sent, i figured you were already on the road
Danny: sets up the plasma porn screen
sick-as-klokwkdog: sent to dt@dt.com and @snet on Saturday nite
sick-as-klokwkdog: yeah, I was in Hamden, unlikely to turn around. next time, though
doctec: oh you sent to doctechnical.com? bad idea...
cease: i emailed you a link to a joke about 3 mice right before chat, doc, from pot-tv
sick-as-klokwkdog: snet was clogged - I was getting bounces
Dr. Headphones: daylight slavery time is wonderful idea
doctec: there is a problem with my acct i only just discovered recently: mail going to doctechnical.com has been collecting on the web server, not being auto-forwarded to my home acct (dt at snet dot net)
cease: also emailed link to same site recently to you, westly and ossman re: origin of crush that dwarf from real life
Danny: TY for the pills Dr.
doctec: there are like 18000 msgs sitting on the server. the one you sent to snet should not have bounced though, but i didn't read it until sunday late afternoon (i was at lili's recuperating all weekend)
sick-as-klokwkdog: that's the one that was full, DT. snet. Sat. nite. I think I got one msg thru, next one bounced
||||||||| Outside, the 10:18 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Bubba's Brains coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Dr. Headphones: it's the brain!
cease: hi bub
ah,clem: hi Bub
Bubba's Brains: Aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Not the Brain!
Bubba's Brains: Hey all.
sick-as-klokwkdog: I'll be back, but it may be May or later
Merlyn: Hey Bb
doctec: understand: being that i am a 'web master' (cough cough), i get an enormous amount of spam - about 300 msgs a day, not counting all the mail that's been bouncing from doctechnical.com
Dr. Headphones: it may be may..... sounds like a johnny mercer song from the 40s
Elayne: Hey Bubba!
sick-as-klokwkdog: if you felt like I do now on Sunday, not a fun thing to have company, anyway
Bambi: Hi Bubba
||||||||| It's 10:20 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Dave - dead from jaundice
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
doctec: and even tho i am using mozilla thunderbird as my email client (the adaptive junk mail filter works pretty well and i have filters set up ot capture email from people i know), sometimes things still fall through the cracks
Dr. Headphones: speaking of crack,
sick-as-klokwkdog: understood, DT
Bambi: I hear ya doc ... same problem with spam here ... and it has picked up again quite a bit this past week.
Danny: especially if they are in chinese or russian
doctec: actually, re saturday: i was either hung over (i did have a lot to drink at the pool hall friday night, lili was in n.j. visiting former co-workers so i went to a pool hall where i used to shoot in league and ran into a bunch of guys i used to shoot with) or caught a 24-hr flu bug
Dr. Headphones: i got email virus from .vn (hanoi) the other day
Danny: just use OS/2
Bubba's Brains: I sympathize, doc. The LT site gathers a lot of spam at its various addresses, several of which forward to me.
cease: dien bien phooy
Danny: don't use drugs
doctec: i am inclined to think it was the former not the latter
Dr. Headphones: danny: well, i didn't "get" it, norton caught it first
Bambi: I bet Ken didn't really get that virus...he just received it ;)
Bambi: lol, what he said
||||||||| "10:22 PM? 10:22 PM!!" says Catherwood, "Dave should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Dave enters and sits on the couch.
sick-as-klokwkdog: DT - the other person I ended up visiting was deathly ill and now I am, so I sincerely hope you didn't have it. not fun
Dr. Headphones: dave's not here, man
Dave: well fine! I go away and it kicks me off
Danny: Sorry, Dave
sick-as-klokwkdog: supposedly major effects over in 24-36 hrs, though
Dr. Headphones: yep, dave, reaper is very unforgiving if you don't participate
doctec: well klok, it was only for 24 hrs - severe nausea and a raging headache - hit me early in the day, had me down until late evening
Bambi: Ken, how true, how true ...
doctec: and as i say, it may have just been that i drank too much
sick-as-klokwkdog: what if you use the "I'm away" setting, Ken?
Dr. Headphones: "speak...or else"
Danny: woof...
Bubba's Brains: "or else"
Dr. Headphones: if you're "away" he doesn't bother you
sick-as-klokwkdog: nah, this is the Mother of All runny noses here.
Dave: well I won't get reeped now cause I'm here Damnit!
doctec: i hate it when my nose runs - chasing after it is exhausting
Dr. Headphones: well, if we're all going to talk about our maladies, i've had low-grade queasiness for several days, and tonight i bent over to pick up ferret and did something to my back. have to sit "just right" or have huge desire for drugs of the pain variety
cease: that's what gogol said
sick-as-klokwkdog doesn;t have enough breath to run. just sit quietly or sleep is all that's possible at the moment
Dr. Headphones: good choices there, klok
Bambi: clem, speak to me buddy, you're fading fast! ;)
Dr. Headphones: "here's to the new world order!"
ah,clem: hmm, fading
sick-as-klokwkdog: could be congestion getting bent as you bent over Ken -- hurts like mad and then the muscles go into spasm...
Danny: and have some Garlic
ah,clem: toad away
Bambi smiles
doctec: hey, if you wanna check out a blast from my past - http://www.doctechnical.com/tlog
Dr. Headphones: mmm, garlic. i have salmon broiled in oven for dinner, liberally coated with garlic and mesquite seasoning :)
Dave hasn't gotten sick yet, knock on painted tree leftovers
Merlyn: shorter than I remember
Dave: ken look at your message thingies please
Danny: good music
Dr. Headphones: doc: can i ftp from there and download them all in one action?
cease: a salmon brothel?
doctec: "traveler log" ... a kind-of, sort-of abstract audio play. it's based on some recordings of scenes a fellow film student made, he was going to use them for a film he never completed back in '76 - he let me take the audio and create original electronic music around it so it's sort of kind of a sci-fi audio play
doctec: dr. h: not really, the files are not accessible thru ftp - but wget will probably work well for you
doctec: ever use wget?
Bambi: Mperia.com -- cool new music service from the sounds of things.
doctec: it should be on your unix machine already
Danny: thanks all
Bambi: songs available in .mp3 format for a change
doctec: you just say 'wget -some url-' and it downloads the file to your unix box
sick-as-klokwkdog: no more FST on Skybird?
Danny: dont forget me Bambi....
Bambi: should work for you too Danny ... it's mp3 :)
Dave: wait where is this doc? I love your mixes
Danny: checking it now
Bambi: it is a service .. .but sounds like it makes better sense than the DRM crap by RIAA sponsored ones
Dr. Headphones: well, tom, i'm in windows right now, trying ws_ftp, but won't accept my login
Bambi: supposed to be a nice place for musicians too
doctec: i made my version of 'traveler log' back in 1980, transferred the reel to reel into my pc a couple of weeekends ago and cleaned it up
doctec: dave: it's at http://www.doctechnilca.com/tlog
Danny: I just need an IP
doctec: dr. h: you can't ftp to my account without my id and password
Danny: and a scroll, now! lol
doctec: oops dave sorry - http://www.doctechnical.com/tlog
Dave: it's not finding it
Dr. Headphones: well, doc, kvm'ed over there, tried it, saved the index and quit
doctec: dr. h: sory, but for security reasons i can't give out my personal id and pwd to my domain hosting acct
Dr. Headphones: of course, doc, i understand completely. i'll get them one by one later
sick-as-klokwkdog: you can't support anon FTP from a jail directory?
doctec: dr.h: try this: 'wget http://www.doctechnical.com/tlog/01_stendec.mp3'
cease: hey dodc, did you get data cd i sent you of bit stuff?
doctec: that should get you the first file
Danny: good night all. was great fun
cease: by danny
doctec: klok: i could copy them to an anonymous ftp acct i have access to on the same server, yes...
doctec: dr. h: give me a sec, lemme see what i can do
sick-as-klokwkdog: nite Danny
sick-as-klokwkdog: oh, wget sounds sufficient, DT
Dr. Headphones: ah, clem: great music here. carlos is one of my all time favorite guitarists!
Dave: thanks Doc I'm about to leave but I'll dl them tomorra if ya don't mind
||||||||| Catherwood escorts Linux Yamamoto in through the front door at 10:37 PM, picks up his cues (only slightly scorched), and heads for the billiard room.
Linux Yamamoto: What ho
sick-as-klokwkdog: hi yam
cease: and his sister, Lucent?
doctec: ok dr. h, i have copied the files to an anonymous ftp acct i have access to
Linux Yamamoto: what Ho I say
doctec: i will email you the login info

Linux Yamamoto: ?
Dave: well people of various animalities, I'm off for the night, see you all next week!

Bambi: if you don't like a song, wait a minute... ;)

sick-as-klokwkdog: nite Dave!
||||||||| Dave leaves at 10:40 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
doctec: actually the correct command for getting the first traveler log file is: 'wget http://www.doctechnical.com/tlog/TL_01_stendec.html'
Linux Yamamoto: hello?
||||||||| Linux Yamamoto departs at 10:40 PM, singing "Toad away, toad away; toad away, toad away! Where do you go when you're toad away?"
doctec: cat: yes i got the data cd thanks
Bambi: see ya Dave!
cease: are you there, yammy?
cease: good, doc
ah,clem: ..
Bambi: hey, Linux Yammy :)
||||||||| Outside, the 10:41 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Companero Senor Yamamoto coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Companero Senor Yamamoto: Lets try again
Dr. Headphones: doc: i'm getting them through mozilla on linux machine. wget got me several copies of index no matter what i typed
cease: i just made a dvd of super 8 footage i took of Fumiyo's dad in the 70s mixed in with still images and the footage i shot at the ishikawa grave in november. very moving
||||||||| Elayne leaves at 10:41 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
Companero Senor Yamamoto: This thing is not scrolling for some reason
doctec: between a heavy office workload, trying to get practiced up for the 9-ball tournament next week (i won't be here next thursday btw), and transferring my archive of original electronic music from the '80s into my PC from reel to reel masters, i've been maxed out
cease: but it was silent footage so i dont have his voice on tape anywhere
||||||||| Companero Senor Yamamoto leaves at 10:41 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."

doctec: oh jeez
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood pipes up: "10:42 PM and late as usual, it's Confused yamamoto, just back from Billville."
doctec: i keep putting out the wrong url
Confused yamamoto: Okay
doctec: lemme try one more time: wget http://www.doctechnical.com/tlog/TL_01_stendec.mp3'
doctec: the file is an mp3 file, not an html file (!!!!!)
doctec: and lose the end quote on that last url
doctec: http://www.doctechnical.com/tlog/TL_01_stendec.mp3
Confused yamamoto: This thing is not refreshing
ah,clem: run wget from command line, to save file.
Confused yamamoto: Hey It works!
cease: not pausing long enough?
Dr. Headphones: ok, doc, got 6, 7 and 8 coming in now. will listen later
doctec: dr. h: point your browser to http://www.doctechnical.com/tlog and you'll see a list ing of mp3 files
Confused yamamoto: I was twiddling with it. I have NO clue what I'm doing here
Dr. Headphones: clem: yes, i was running from terminal
doctec: oh it sounds like you're getting them now
cease: and you've been doing it for years
Dr. Headphones: yam: do like i do. i run as "root" for everything, gives you more opportunities to f**k up royally :)
doctec: i'll be curious what you think of them, bear in mind these are old 4-track files i cleaned up in cool edit pro, i think i got them sounding better than they ever sounded
Dr. Headphones: tom: got 'em all, thanks, will listen later
ah,clem: may have needed soft quote around link due to /'s
Confused yamamoto: Suse lets you have root access if you need it from yr user profile
Dr. Headphones: clem: everything i have has been soft for years ;)
ah,clem: LOL
Confused yamamoto: If you go into root you get a bomnb and hazard wallpaper that looks kewl
cease: susie cream cheese, what's got into you?
Dr. Headphones: yam: if you want knoppix and are on dialup, email me your address kendeb52@yahoo.com and i'll send you copy

Bubba's Brains: I hadn't seen that post. What's he say?
sick-as-klokwkdog: hi Ilan
Dr. Headphones: cat: merl (?) earlier said that was repost of something old
Confused yamamoto: oi LL
||||||||| It's 10:50 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Danny - dead from the common cold
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
cease: oh?
Merlyn: firebroiled posted it
cease: just about all the lodestone problems but that it isnt dead yet
Dr. Headphones: is this "minuet in g" by bach?

Bubba's Brains: recent or older?
Dr. Headphones: i used to play that on piano as a young boy
cease: no, it's symphony in c minus
Dr. Headphones: bub: the post was the past few days, but was apparently an old one
Merlyn: the recent post by firebroiled was march 13 or so
cease: it was just on alt.firesign last week or so
Confused yamamoto: Ya know, I really think AMD chips hate clinux
llanwydd: I have an old lodestone catalogue but I haven't bought from them yet
Merlyn: but it was the same "message from the president" that's been up for years
Bubba's Brains: alt.firesign,,, or alt.comedy.fire....?
Dr. Headphones: yam: some versions are optimized for that chip
cease: better do it while you still have a chance, llan
Merlyn: alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre
cease: so lodestone still exists?
cease: unsold cds of neal amid will be happy to hear that
Bubba's Brains: Hmm. don't see the post on Google's reader....

Bubba's Brains: Ah, firebroiled...
Merlyn: Same as http://www.lodestone-media.com/message.html
Dr. Headphones: ah, a jimmy lee special vocal arrangement now :)
doctec: brb
Bambi: yes!
cease: barbara bobo?
Bubba's Brains: looks like someone else copied the message and posted it there... that wasn't Rich.
ah,clem: well have to go see you all next week.
Dr. Headphones: later, jl/clem
||||||||| Outside, the 10:56 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Duke of Prunes coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
cease: by ah
Merlyn: that's what I'm saying. When did this turn into "who's on first"?
llanwydd: night clem
Dr. Headphones: prunes for industry, prunes for the dead!
Merlyn: B-Brain posted the link back in Oct 2003
Bambi: night clem :)
cease: willy horton hears a "who?"
llanwydd: hey duke
cease: duke, duke, duke, of...
Duke of Prunes: how-do, sports
cease: and shorts?
Dr. Headphones: shorts and quarts?
Duke of Prunes: in quarts
Dr. Headphones: of prune juice
Confused yamamoto: Snorts and Quartz?
cease: or amythyst
Duke of Prunes: a totally new meaning to "I gotta go"
Merlyn: snorts in your quartz
llanwydd: Prunes was 13th century dukedom I believe
Dr. Headphones: duke: on a bet once as a young boy, i drank a quart of prune juice. let me advise you that if you do that, be very close to a toilet about 20 minutes later!
cease: uncle duke? sir duke? The duke?
||||||||| Catherwood leads Bunnyboy inside, makes a note of the time (11:00 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
Duke of Prunes: yes, I'd imagine it would move right on thru
Bambi: yes, Ken ... it does work like a charm LOL
cease: sounds like a stevie wonder song
Bambi: hey BB's back
Bunnyboy: lo dere
cease: bunny?
llanwydd: hey bb
Bunnyboy: duke of prunes? bogus pomp?
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 11 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Bunnyboy: gregarry pecarry?
Confused yamamoto: oi

Duke of Prunes: REAL pomp. Bogus circumstance.
Bunnyboy: Billy the Mountain!

Bunnyboy: lo doc
Confused yamamoto: gotten this to work
sick-as-klokwkdog has located decade-old sudafed clone and 15-yr-old Tylenol and just pumped in one of each
Bunnyboy: Anybody watching B-ball? How's Gonzaga doing?
Dr. Headphones: klok: save the sudafed, use in your meth lab ;)
Confused yamamoto: This is the first time I've gotten this to work
Bunnyboy: My parent's house is about a mile from Gonzaga.
sick-as-klokwkdog clicks up local PBS outlet for BBC nooz -- can he keep focused enough? searching for drugs has him all outta breath!
Dr. Headphones: bun: i just changed it to other local news. not a sports fan at all
Confused yamamoto: SuSe is not so bad, I've started to figure ouut stuff already
Dr. Headphones: yam: no matter which one you use, you will get used to its quirks and learn to like it more than others.
sick-as-klokwkdog: new SuSE is about to hit the streets. Also, Mandrake v10 is out, for those of the paying persuasion
Bunnyboy: Just stopped back for a quick wavearound. Time to putter, then sleep.
Dr. Headphones waves at bun
doctec: thanks for stopping by bunny
cease: i only watch the lakers, bunny. they barely scraped by a couple of lousy teams this week
sick-as-klokwkdog thinks only Debian and Mandrake remain friendly. rest have morphed into $ Shiekelgrabbers
sick-as-klokwkdog: put away, BB; nite!
Confused yamamoto: I got this for free
Bunnyboy: And no, "putter" isn't what you think. Get yer minds outta the oetomotopaec (sic?) gutter!
Confused yamamoto: I'm gonna have to go
cease: put her where?
Dr. Headphones: yam: by definition all linux is supposed to be free, but sometimes the hoops you have to jump through to get it aren't worth while
Confused yamamoto: atte,pting a d/l
sick-as-klokwkdog: nite Yam
cease: by yam
Bunnyboy: This Latin isn't fit for a pig!
llanwydd: good night yam
Bunnyboy skips blithely away
Dr. Headphones: try aramaic instead
Confused yamamoto: nytol
sick-as-klokwkdog: well, the license says you have to make the stuff available, not friendly. You can release just source code and makefile and satisfy the GPL...
||||||||| Confused yamamoto leaves at 11:08 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."

Merlyn: hit
Merlyn: I mean "nite"
Dr. Headphones: what did you hit?
Duke of Prunes: is it a hit? Or a Miss???
Merlyn: anywho, got the new exit message
sick-as-klokwkdog: the Jesus Chainsaw Massacre?
Dr. Headphones: he shoots, he scores!
Merlyn: that was a level 2 typo
llanwydd: what?
||||||||| It's 11:10 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| ah,clem - dead from the fiddlers
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
cease: one mississippi, 2 mississippi
sick-as-klokwkdog: The Passion...
Bambi: 3 mississippi, 4
cease: better fruit than flick, no doubt
sick-as-klokwkdog: I read the Book...
Dr. Headphones: i prefer the river that was local to me growing up: the withalacoochee
llanwydd: can't you flick fruit?
cease: i read only Good books
doctec: if it had been a level 5 typo, you would have been instructed to don your tin foil hats and type with your nose
sick-as-klokwkdog: are we all speaking in Algonquin now?
Dr. Headphones: llan: if your finger is strong!
Dr. Headphones: klok: that one is seminole
cease: only the round table, klok
Merlyn: and a level 6 typo means you have typo blood
doctec: al gonquin, casino operator
llanwydd: withalacoochee? Mine was Musconetcong
sick-as-klokwkdog: my Seminole girl has a lovin' cheek...went one night/stayed 3 weeks...
Bambi: only went to one casino ... it was in the morning ... very boring lol
Dr. Headphones: sounds eerily like viet cong to me
Merlyn: al gonquin, table operator
Bubba's Brains: Uh, back again, got on an A.I.M chat.
cease: smooth
sick-as-klokwkdog: islamic HTML?
cease: ed ames to please, and so does louise
Bambi: they must be open 24/7 but when everyone crashes in the morning...it is dead!
Bubba's Brains: HyperText Muslim Language?
Dr. Headphones: bambi: i've been to several, but always at night and they were hoppin!
llanwydd: there were plenty of cong in New Jersey but not all Asian
cease: there's happy hamburger all over the highway
sick-as-klokwkdog: Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods in CT represent a major traffic hazard near RI border
Bambi: we stopped on a whim because I had never been to one ... but we were traveling past Atlantic City and the timing was all wrong. LOL
sick-as-klokwkdog: $180M per year to CT, bigger cut to the tribes
Dr. Headphones: is mohegan the same as mohican?
Merlyn: the whim was in rocky rococo's pocket
cease: i'm hearing good things about new medical marijuana law in connecticut
llanwydd: I wouldn't set foot in one of those places
sick-as-klokwkdog: both Algonquin, but Mohegan tribe was in New England; Mohicans in PA or something to West
Merlyn: how about your nose, llan?
llanwydd: not likely
sick-as-klokwkdog: Foxwoods has a wonderful museum about King Phillips's war in which the whites slaughtered most of the Pequot and Narragansett population and sent the rest to the West Indies as slaves.
Bambi: I wouldn't step one foot in there either llanwydd ... I used both feet :)
cease: there it is, on his face
llanwydd: no I wouldn't set one foot in my nose either
Dr. Headphones: well, dear friends, i'm yawning, the weather is over (more light snow tomorrow), and i'm gonna mosey off into the sunset. see y'
sick-as-klokwkdog: the major problem for me is 110 yr. old people in NYC that only drive once a year, hell-bent to Foxwoods at 11PM. They miss the exit and there's no telling what they will do, like a cornerd animal, except at 65 MPH on I-95...
cease: by kend
Dr. Headphones: y'all later
sick-as-klokwkdog: nite Ken
||||||||| At 11:18 PM, Dr. Headphones vanishes mysteriously -- just as Nino the Mind Boggler predicted!

Bubba's Brains: nite DrH.

doctec: nite bambi
Bambi: see ya Cat ... glad you are back
Merlyn: ok c
sick-as-klokwkdog: Cat -- did you write letter of complaint to NYT?
cease: me too, bambi
Bambi have a great one all!
||||||||| Bambi departs at 11:20 PM, singing "Toad away, toad away; toad away, toad away! Where do you go when you're toad away?"
cease: about katakana, klok? when i told Fumiyo about the article she was appalled.
sick-as-klokwkdog likes this stuff! probably turning my kidneys into mush...
cease: if the author had asked one japanese person or someone familiar with the language, they would have called that error
cease: i do have an e-subscription to the paper, maybe i should
sick-as-klokwkdog: well, all the more reason to make a fuss. You'll get some ink and maybe some notice
cease: it's just wrong, but so is the claim that iraq is full of nukes, and the nytdidnnt seem too interested in that either
llanwydd: I don't need no inking notice
sick-as-klokwkdog likes the pithy letters in The Economist; those in NYT are so darn practical and uninteresting
cease: i will definitely email whoever's responsible for that. all those exotic japanese indeed
Bubba's Brains: Nukes!?! I thought they said it was full of nudes!
cease: under the burkas, perhaps
Merlyn: I thought it was full of i-nodes
sick-as-klokwkdog: ought to orchestrate a mass complaint, Cat -- letter after letter
llanwydd: ever heard of the Nude Bomb? It was an old film
Merlyn: they said the center of iraq was full of nougat
Bubba's Brains: Islamic come-on: "Hi, I'm nude under this burka."
cease: there's a whole category of japanese words, onompoetic that are always written in katakana. all typical japanese words
sick-as-klokwkdog: US admin's nose is getting longer and longer and longer...
Merlyn: does this burka make my bomb look big?
sick-as-klokwkdog: LOL
doctec: ok i gotta call it a night, it's been a very long week for me and i need to get some sleep
cease: the pinnochio president, as ambassador wilson called it
Merlyn: joke from a few months ago
llanwydd: bub reminded me of it. I never saw the film
Bubba's Brains: Bomba-bomba-boom!
cease: sleep well, doc
Merlyn: hokay dok
sick-as-klokwkdog: nite DT; hi->Lili
Bubba's Brains: "i've heard the name, never seen it"
doctec: next week i'll be at the 'super billiards expo' in valley forge PA, so i'll see you all in two weeks
llanwydd: I hate to say it but I still think Bush is going to win the election. Won't be my fault
cease: see you then, doc. best of luck in the expo
Bubba's Brains: doc cant see us next week. he'll be playing with his balls.
sick-as-klokwkdog: say hi to George for me, DT
Bubba's Brains: Nite, doc.
doctec: nytol (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........
||||||||| doctec leaves at 11:26 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
sick-as-klokwkdog: they're having trouble managing all the lies, Ilan.
cease: that's odd, considering they have All The Power\
cease: the supine court on down
cease: can an irate howard stern beat them? i mean in a non-sexual way?
sick-as-klokwkdog: joe sixpack is beginning to notice
Bubba's Brains: I rate howard stern?
Bubba's Brains: I sternly rate howard?
sick-as-klokwkdog: what I read, Stern is popular with swing voters, may really crimp Bush's numbers
llanwydd: howard stern is a loser
cease: according to salon, this is the worst thing that has happened to the bush campaign
Merlyn: I think the fake news bit is pretty bad, too
cease: yet.
||||||||| Outside, the 11:30 PM downtown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Dave coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
sick-as-klokwkdog: it's been one bad thing after another. they can gloss over one or two, but beyond that, people worry that they're lying all the time. Kerry's comment off-mike really resonated.
cease: weapons of mass deception?
Dave: eh I thought I'd stop by for about ten minutes
cease: the ads for new medicare bill?
cease: i look forward to harry shearer's take on that
cease: hello again, dave
sick-as-klokwkdog: yeah, all of it.
llanwydd: hey dave
Dave: hey everyone, anything interesting happen while I was gone?
cease: doc came and went
Merlyn: world war four
cease: Duke of Prunes is fading
Bubba's Brains: famine... pestilence....
sick-as-klokwkdog: he's preaching to the converted, Cat, like Limbaugh. Stern is addressing people who ;-) can go either way. Electorate is pretty evenly split between Dem's & Rs, so the independents are gonna swing the election. and they seem to be annoyed with GWB
Dave: oh good, another war, is it Eurasia and Oceania? I forget
cease: i really hope you're right, klok
sick-as-klokwkdog: am i typing making sense or is this just words coming out? hard to tell now, fuzzy...
sick-as-klokwkdog: jobs situation is horrible, Cat
Bubba's Brains: dogs and cats living together... real biblical type stuff.
cease: so i hear
Dave: oh yeah, mind the apples
Merlyn: your words are fuzzy
cease: i was quite stunned to see all the poverty when i was last in your country, in SF, one of the richest cities
sick-as-klokwkdog sees donkey weddings on the horizon
cease: everyone was complaining about jobs or school cutbacks or general lack of services
sick-as-klokwkdog: well, they turned off all the welfare. "Get a job!"
Bubba's Brains: fuzz ... /fuzz
cease: not that generals are in want of work
sick-as-klokwkdog: oh yeah, see Mark Fiore's latest cartoon in Salon, for ezzample.
cease: can war hero kerry capture enough of the veteran vote to win, i wonder?
cease: about all the new jobs? i saw that. read salon every day
sick-as-klokwkdog: somehow, I dont' think this admin. is going to be so gung-ho about counting every military absentee ballot for THIS election!
Bubba's Brains: {type-focus: extra fuzzy;}
cease: i think you're right
sick-as-klokwkdog: "school daze", Cat, the flash cartoon by Mark Fiore
cease: burger flippers are the new manufacturing sector
Bubba's Brains: Mayor McChees for secretary of labor!
sick-as-klokwkdog: yeah, interesting article about offshoring and whether it's really good for the economy in NYT Business today (Thur)
Dave: well folks, I'm gonna head out in to the sunset for real this time, the last sunset was just melting yellow plastic with a ittle black soot for good measure, later un til next week
||||||||| Catherwood says "11:37 PM, time for SOMEONE to leave!", grabs Dave by the collar and gives 'em the old bum's rush out the door
cease: with lots of little melty hats
Bubba's Brains: shoved out the airlock again....
sick-as-klokwkdog: nite Dave
cease: by again dave
sick-as-klokwkdog: night everyone...
Bubba's Brains: nite klok
cease: klok
cease: well i guess i have to put food in oven eventually
sick-as-klokwkdog: bye!
cease: see ya'll on a more regular basis
||||||||| sick-as-klokwkdog leaves at 11:40 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
Bubba's Brains pulls the rip cord too.
llanwydd: well, I must recede for the evening.
||||||||| Bubba's Brains leaves at 11:41 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
cease: off we leap
Merlyn: breaking up now?
Merlyn: bye
||||||||| Merlyn leaves at 11:42 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
llanwydd: my contact lenses are in the car. I must bring them in so they don't freeze and then I will become unconscious.
llanwydd: I'll see you all a week older. But that's completely subjective.
llanwydd: But subjectivity is objective.
llanwydd: Good night
