Firebroiled: I'll take it! I'll take it! I can't wait to get away from it all!
Firebroiled: Just a second. I've got to get the safety off. Oh, ho ho! Look at the blue Westley!
||||||||| Firebroiled is thrown out the window just as the clock strikes 8:29 AM.
||||||||| Catherwood steals into the room, and intones "Announcing 'Bubba's Brain', also known as 'Nancy' -- the time is 7:30 PM" -- then he slowly retires back into the vestibule...

Bambi smiles
Mudhead: Hello Deer Friends
the_woof: unfortunately, catherwood can't actually give me a glass of water
||||||||| Catherwood gives the_woof a glass of water.

Dexter Fong: Hey Clem )on the radio)
the_woof: are we on the radio show in any way?
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood snorts derisively: "9:10 PM and late as usual, it's Warpo, just back from Hellmouth."

||||||||| "9:12 PM? 9:12 PM!!" says Catherwood, "cease should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as cease enters and sits on the couch.
Bambi: ok Mudhead
cease: i have always been here
llanwydd: howdy cat!
Warpo: Hi Bam, Ah, Clem
the_woof: unfortunately, the only firesign theatre stuff i've heard is from the shoes for industry cds
Bambi: where are you from woof? most of us are from all over the place ... some from US, some from Canada, some from England, etc. Clem and I are from VA
the_woof: and "don't crush that dwarf"
Bambi: hi Cat!

Dexter Fong: Hey Cat, how about them teen-age bank robbers =))
cease: bambi. i recorded the maron/proctor show
cease: i'm sort of from the us as well, but thankfully i dont live there now
Bambi: you will get to hear many more here on Thursdays woof ... great fun
Dexter Fong: woof? You from around Princeton?
the_woof: how long is the show
cease: yeah it made the rachel maddow show.
Bambi: kewl Cat :-)
cease: rare any canuck news gets into your news
the_woof: where's princeton?
llanwydd: Princeton? I know NJ very well
Dexter Fong: Just below Kingstown
cease: anyway bambi, i can send it to you on a cd and you can play the relavent part of it on this show, i think
Bambi: hard to say ... might be several 'movies' long ...as Clem calls them ;-)
||||||||| Outside, the 9:15 PM crosstown bus from Elmertown pulls away, leaving Tweenbert Souseé coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
the_woof: no i'm not from princeton
Tweenbert Souseé: Yes... Yes, indeed...
Warpo: Tweeni!
cease: this piece, oddly, is slightly based on Tile it Like it Is
llanwydd: hey twee!
Dexter Fong: Heil Kayser Sousee'
cease: tweeny, i've just offered to make a cd of the proctor/maron show for them
cease: i can do that for you too
Bambi: hey Tweeny!
Tweenbert Souseé: To TV or not TV. That is the question..
llanwydd: I recognize you from The Bank Dick

Tweenbert Souseé: Hello all...
Dexter Fong: Ahem...Don't for get your NY friends
Tweenbert Souseé: Quite, LL :)
llanwydd: or was it the bank dick?
Bambi: and we are very happy to get it Cat ... thanks!
Bambi: mail good :-)
cease: i also need to send you Down Under Danger. i wonder if that will be part of the box set?
Tweenbert Souseé: Please do, Cat. I can take large files via the SendThisFiles service, though.
Dexter Fong: It's the bank, Dick...the very levee where we growed uppin
cease: dex, i listened to your nick danger cd when i was driving around southern california
the_woof: how long have you all been coming here on thursdays?
Tweenbert Souseé: www.sendthisfile.com
cease: email me how to do that then, tweeen
Tweenbert Souseé: You grew up in Lompoc?
cease: i was here on day one, but forget what year that was
cease: i think it was 95
Bambi: the great Nino thinks woof is from Princeton, NJ ... course Nino thinks we are from Williamsburg, VA too ... Nino only can know where ISPs are ;-)
the_woof: wow
Tweenbert Souseé: For a couple of years now, I guess woof. Ever since I found out about it.
Dexter Fong: CAT: WHich CD, the one with all the Nick Dangers on it..i.e. ND meets Ghandi?
cease: yes
cease: bit of synchornicity
Warpo: I'd like to hear that!
cease: the nick danger episode about magnolias came on just as i was coming up to magnolia avenue in la
the_woof: how would nino know anyone's isp? and who is nino?
llanwydd: nick danger meets gandhi is a very interewting idea
ah,clem: he boggles the mind
Dexter Fong: woof: We are each equipped with a Nino when we log on
cease: id never heard that before
Warpo: ghandi could biatch slap Nick
Dexter Fong: Nino made me say that
the_woof: and what is a nino
Bambi: look at the red text to the right of the Exit button and you will see Log and Nino
cease: et phone home, using a shoe phone from another firesign album
||||||||| Catherwood stomps in at 9:20 PM, dragging Merlyn by the hair and asks "Can anyone vouch for this idiot?"
Boney: Is anyone following (stalking?) Rob Bartlett on Imus in the Morning? Dr. Phil? Brian Wilson?
cease: proc told maron that there are 50 firesign records
Dexter Fong: woof: Right before teno
the_woof: aha
llanwydd: anyone seen "Gandhi's Revenge" from UHF?
Tweenbert Souseé: Hey Merl...
cease: i guess that includes singles although i didnt know they had so many.
Bambi: and the great wizard of all we survey Merlyn arrives! Hi Merlyn!
the_woof: this nino is a rather disillusioned individual
cease: i really have to buy fred's new book. proc was plugging it
Warpo: i'm already nuted in
Tweenbert Souseé: Wow, cat. Is there a complete discography?
Dexter Fong: Cat: It is a very definet favorite of mine
Warpo: uhhh tuned
cease: yes
Boney: That other guy, Larry Kenny, is funny, too. He was Sen. Kennedy this morning.
Merlyn: hello all - want to hear of a proposed firesign web project that FT nixed? (Bergman, surprisingly, nixed it)
Bambi: yes, the mind boggling Nino ;-)
||||||||| the_woof departs at 9:22 PM, singing "Toad away, toad away; toad away, toad away! Where do you go when you're toad away?"
Tweenbert Souseé: Nino's got me right this evening, but he often sees me in Plano.
Mudhead: yes plz Merlyn
llanwydd: do tell, merl
cease: really? i thought he was mr. rotocomputer
Merlyn: At the end of March, I was listening to Air America, and they mentioned Talon News again
Dexter Fong: retro-computer?
Boney: Hm. Guess not.
Mudhead: oh drat, the programmers off onna tanngent
cease: the company in clark wintergreeen, dex
Merlyn: Talon News is the fake news website run by the TX GOP, and it turned out their star reporter was a male prostitute
Dexter Fong: Cat: Bosco
cease: gannon the cannon, of course
Tweenbert Souseé: Natural light or UV lamps, Mud?
Warpo: male prostitute != Gigilo
llanwydd: interesting,merl
cease: i think proc realy likes doing an aussie accent
llanwydd: who was his client?
Boney: All of the politicians can be depressing
Merlyn: jim gukert/james gannon - who got into about 200 presidential press thingys on day passes
Mudhead: au natural UV
Dexter Fong: Right-o mate!
Tweenbert Souseé: The current issue of the Texas Monthly has Tom Delay on the cover with the title "Don't Let The Door Hit You". lol
Bambi: very true Boney
Merlyn: anyway, soon after the gannon scandal hit, talonnews.com went off the air
Merlyn: they put up a "we're redesigning our website" and it was up for months
Boney: the wretched live feeds from Iraq
Mudhead: what are they on now, nitrous?
llanwydd: Is your name from the Bank dick or million dollar legs, tween?
cease: i can see where this is going, merl
cease: sounds like rfo.org
llanwydd: I know its one2 or the other
Merlyn: when I checked at the end of march after hearing Talon News on AA, the website was gone
Tweenbert Souseé: Bunch of Peyton Place/Harper Valley hypocrites.
Boney: the mass media book floggers
Bambi says I wonder why LOL!
Dexter Fong: llan: OR from "The Usual Suspects"
Merlyn: it was an ad from the company that sold it to them, network systems - their domain name lapsed, and they had 30-45 days to renew it
Warpo: where is that pot I just had in the 80's
Tweenbert Souseé: Why, the Bank Dick of course. It's not souse, it's souse´. Acent grave over the e....
Merlyn: they didn't renew, and it was auctioned off last Friday-Sunday
Mudhead: can someone post the url for the radio show plz
cease: i have it now, warpo
llanwydd: been a long time since the 80s, warp
Merlyn: I wanted to buy it to bring it back as the fake news website it always was
Merlyn: mudhead
Mudhead: I'll buy it for ya Merl
Tweenbert Souseé: Time to visit Oakland, LL ;)
llanwydd: got some rice on the stove
Bambi: would certainly be funny ... be another type of onion lol
Merlyn: I asked firesign just before the auction started, since I didn't know what it would go for - there were 35 bidders, but only a few bid over the minimum
Dexter Fong: I'll stay here in Maplewood
llanwydd: what's in oakland, tween?
cease: i think this is the worst of the many lousy fiesign songs
Bambi: thanks Merlyn
cease: its like vancouver, only with more black people
cease: a pot friendly metropolis
Merlyn: anyway, FT passed (I think it might be because Bergman, at least, really does political campaigning and this may have run afoul of election laws)
Boney: Is American Theocracy by Kevin Phillips an appropriate Mother's Day gift, Bamb? Maybe if your mother is Arianna Huffington
Tweenbert Souseé: I love The Onion and Ironic Times. Makes my day.
Bambi: Bubba's Brain will not be here tonight ... he said he would explain when he returns.
Merlyn: afoul if you also do political campaigning, that is
cease: makes sense, merl
llanwydd: that actually sounds good, cat
cease: didint he work for the new la mayor?
Bambi: LOL
Merlyn: anyway, me & doc and the shockwave radio guys wanted to go in for it, but the bidding got too high
Mudhead: is it still for sale?
Tweenbert Souseé: Road Trip!
Merlyn: I went up to $750, but it went for $2000 to some guy in Poland
Dexter Fong: Shotgun!!]
||||||||| Catherwood enters with doctec close behind, grumbles something about disrupting his 9:30 PM tree-stunting plans, and rushes off to the sitting room.
Mudhead: well, lets just make up a new one
Merlyn: I have no idea why he thinks it's worth $2000, he owns http://www.realmedia.pl/ and it only says "hello world"
Tweenbert Souseé: Lo dere, Doc...
Dexter Fong: Hey Doc Tee
cease: and speaking of doc
Bambi: hey doc!
Mudhead: hiya doc
||||||||| Catherwood stumbles in and pipes up "Presenting 'stephenfosterklok', just granted probation at 9:30 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
Tweenbert Souseé: A faux C-code web site?
Merlyn: we can, mudhead, but we can't pretend to be talonnews.com...
llanwydd: howdy, doc!
Warpo: TY JL and ALL gotta run... will be listening
doctec: i am not at all surprised the bidding war took the price as high as it did
Bambi: hey Klok!
Tweenbert Souseé: It's Mr. Foster freeze...
Mudhead: Im hoping top bring a new deer friend tonite
Bambi: see ya later Warp!
cease: klok
Dexter Fong: SFK?????
Mudhead: her name is Nancy
Merlyn: Now talonnews.com is just a generic 'under construction' - I emailed the guy who bought it, but no reply (and I know he knows English)
Boney: Isn't it ironic how the Philip Agee fans are so righteously indignant about the Plame scandal?
cease: by warpo
stephenfosterklok: hey, everyone
llanwydd: hey, klok!
doctec: they probably think it will be of even greater value to someone else
stephenfosterklok: nite warp
Boney: the CIA has friends it never knew it had before
Bambi: cool mudhead ... the more the merrier!
Mudhead: how bout Falcon News? Raven News?
doctec: and they'll sit on it until someone is willing to pay even more for it
doctec: talonnewz.com
cease: speaking of the cia, i just finished Confessions of an Economic Hitman
cease: highly reccommended
Tweenbert Souseé: TV was way ahead of its time. Good prognosticator.
Dexter Fong: Phil Agee related to Tommy Agee?
Merlyn: yeah, but I don't think that'll happen, doc, it's too current
Tweenbert Souseé: Say goodbye to your requests...
Tweenbert Souseé: Pretty good, Cat? I've heard of it.
cease: outstanding
Dexter Fong: Tween: Do I get a last request???
doctec: well i'm willingto bet the guy who landed talonnews.com is gambling that someone will pay him more than he paid for it - whether someone will do that or not is an open question
Boney: yeah, I've started going after the left. Because I think that the Bushies and neocons have lost. I'm always against The Power, no matter who or what The Power may be.
cease: things are so much worse than we've been led to belive by even the wildest conspiracy theorists
Mudhead: just a cig and a blinded fold
Tweenbert Souseé: What we did in SA is going to haunt us. Pales to the current situation, of course.
Merlyn: that's what I think doc - he owns www.realmedia.pl and does nothing with it
Tweenbert Souseé: Mud beat me to it lol...
Dexter Fong: Boney!!Right on er a um Left on!!
Mudhead: I'll stop beating you
Tweenbert Souseé: I'll have to put it on the list Cat. Thranks...
Mudhead: unless you like it
Mudhead: then I'll charge ya for it
cease: i bought it in LAX, read most of it on flight here
Boney: However, I will complete my sweaty prison novel about "Duke" Cunningham. Top Gun's Naked Leather Holster
Dexter Fong: The Duke of Oil
cease: this is funny
cease: good idea, pills
Tweenbert Souseé: The local library system has 18 copies. Yeah Austin :)
Mudhead: lol
Boney: hound dog poon tang tree frog. I's white!
Dexter Fong: 18 copies of the Duke of Oil??
cease: we take drugs seriously at our house reminds me of a hunter thompson line
cease: he was in vancouver in the mid 70s and the tv interviewer asked him what he'd been doing recently.
cease: "drugs" hunter asnwered
Bambi: better borrow it before they start fingerprinting you when you take out library books tween
Tweenbert Souseé: No, but you could probably hear it in one of the local clubs. Lots of 50's/60's retro here, including cars.
Dexter Fong: ...and hullubalootions
Dexter Fong: Tween wasn't The Cars a late 70's-80's group?
Tweenbert Souseé: Hunter's stuff is great. And what a way to go, ordinancely-speaking.
cease: my shirona?
cease: on the franken show, it'
cease: it's My Sirota
Dexter Fong: She's everyones "Shaarona"
Tweenbert Souseé: Loved The Cars as well. Since Your're Gone...
doctec: the cars were an early-to-mid 80s group
Bambi: next they'll start suggesting fingerprinting for making phone calls and mailing letters
Dexter Fong: Thank you Doctor
Dexter Fong: Fingerprint your Doctor
Tweenbert Souseé: Bambi doesn't have her implant yet. I'm telling...
doctec: the cars are touring this year (albeit without ocasek, rundgren taking his place)
Mudhead: im not using the phone any longer, going back to two cans and a string
Dexter Fong: Utopian Cars...all electric
doctec: they will be doing mostly cars tunes and some utopia tunes as well
Bambi says maybe I shouldn't give them any ideas!
Tweenbert Souseé: I'd love to catch them. Bet it's a great band.
stephenfosterklok: they already tap all the coin phones and video as many as they can to get the license plates
Tweenbert Souseé: LOL Bambi...
||||||||| Bunnyboy steals in around 9:41 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last night's "unpleasant incident."
Bunnyboy: lo dere
Dexter Fong: KLok: Don't where your license plate when you make a public call
cease: hi bunny
Boney: Karl Rove is Al Franken's punk ass bitch
Bunnyboy: Let's just take a look inside your fabulous New Cars.
Bambi: hey Bunny!
Mudhead: theyll be tappin the string tho soon
Tweenbert Souseé: It's Grandmaster B...
Dexter Fong: Laugh Out dere
cease: hows it bunnying?
Dexter Fong: I want them to tap out
Bunnyboy: One other former member of Utopia is in the New Cars.
stephenfosterklok: they've got your number, Dex
Bunnyboy: It hops, it's hip!
doctec: bb: yes, i forgot that - kasim sultan maybe?
Dexter Fong: The Hummer, Background type
stephenfosterklok: apparently, they have everybody's number
Tweenbert Souseé: The new revealations about BILLIONS of phone conversations being monitored are going to raise a real stink.
cease: you think so, tween?
stephenfosterklok: wow, the lights must be on late in E. Europe and Russia as the hackers work on getting that database!
Tweenbert Souseé: The drummer? Kassim or something like that?
Dexter Fong: Revelations - Revolutions
Bunnyboy: U.S. Gov O.K.
Boney: the return of Admiral Poindexter... Total Information Awareness
Bunnyboy: Cable One Day
doctec: supposedly, the phones were not tapped - they just have the records of all the phone calls made (dialing and receiving numbers)
cease: lol klok
Bunnyboy: Ets 2
Bambi: well, they can listen all they want ... all they'll get is modem tones LOL
Tweenbert Souseé: I'll be intererested to see Congress' reaction.
Tweenbert Souseé: (if there is one)
Dexter Fong: T'nA?
Bunnyboy: doc: Kasim it is, yes.
stephenfosterklok: doc -- you actually believe them?
Boney: It's aggregate data... But they can tap any phone call at will. So what else is new?
doctec: bb: thanks. btw, how many of the sctv vols do you own now?
stephenfosterklok: Doc -- If so, I have a whole bunch of Iraqi WMDs I can sell you, cheap
cease: i liked what oliphant said on franken this morning about that
Bambi: really ticks me off really ... just trying to be silly
cease: let's say you pick up the phone and call your friend, "Hi, Jack"
Tweenbert Souseé: LOL Cat...
stephenfosterklok: Cat -- you mean Jack Philby?
Dexter Fong: Highjack??
Bambi: LOL Cat!
cease: oliphan'ts joke
Boney: I don't know Jack.
doctec: sfk: i can't imagine any technology exists that would allow them to tap and monitor every single f*****g phone call placed on every f*****g phone for even a single day - speech recognition hasn't gotten that fast enough that even the fastest supercomputer or a whole f*****g bank of them could handle that volume of info
cease: but the NSA does, or will soon enough
stephenfosterklok never knew Jack
Bunnyboy: doc: I gots all the NBC-era volumes, which is all Shout! Factory has released so far. I also have their one-size-fits-all Christmas double feature.
Tweenbert Souseé: Believe they're working on it, Doc.
Boney: Look, Jack doesn't like me. So I never had the chance to get to know him.
stephenfosterklok: doctec -- can you say "F-117"?
Bunnyboy: Supposedly, there will be volumes of the earlier syndicated stuff, and the Cinemax series, as well.
doctec: of course they're working on it - but they ain't there yet, and i can't imagine they will be for a number of years
Dexter Fong: ..and by then
doctec: bb: why is vol 4 so much more expensive than the others, and why is the xmas show sold as a separate dvd?
Dexter Fong: ...the oceans will have risen and flooded all their equipment
stephenfosterklok: doctec -- I didn't say they could analyze it
cease: this si the song from Tile it LIke it Is
Tweenbert Souseé: I rather have something like Big Blue working on weather forecasts ;)
Boney: However, it should be noted that Jack is a Firesign Theatre fan and a Zappa fan.
Tweenbert Souseé: Considering the recent storms here, we're in for a doozie of a hurricane season.
Bunnyboy: doc: Lemme check it out...
Dexter Fong: Tile It Like it is ? = Reality redecorating show??
Bambi: they don't need to Boney...all phone systems are on computers now .. not just VoIP ... they really could just use computers to do it....like Cat was intimating with the Hi, Jack .. thing.
stephenfosterklok: kind of like Britain, with video cameras all over the place and some fat cop dozing off while some thug beats someone to death on their doorstep. Later the next day, of course, they can get a fuzzy picture off the videotape...
doctec: bb: i read on http://www.sctvguide.ca/ this week that sales of vol 4 are soft, they may not release any more after vol 4
Boney: Sorry... Too much information about Jack
Tweenbert Souseé: I love it when Homeland Security gives a small town somewhere in Montana a huge budget to put up cameras on every corner.
||||||||| It's 9:50 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Warpo - dead from dengue fever
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Boney: Aggregate data is used to detect patterns. Like I said before, this is what Admiral Poindexter (love that name) wanted to do... Total Information Awareness... Remember that?
Dexter Fong: Tween: That's their fifteen minutes of fame
stephenfosterklok: actually, Wikipedia has a great bio of Jack, better than I've seen online before
Tweenbert Souseé: For all 2000 people, Dex.
Dexter Fong: Tween: Cheaper than hiring extras
Bunnyboy: doc: Ah, that's it. Vol. 4 is a 6 disc set, instead of a 5 disc set.
cease: does anyoone here have fred's new book?
doctec: bb: ok, makes more sense now
Bunnyboy: And there are 12 episodes instead of the other volumes' benchmark of 9.
cease: i was surpirsed to hear proc plugging it on maron
Bambi: Yes, TIA ... and now they are pushing TCPA for storage security ... it won't be long now ... the frog will be dead.
Tweenbert Souseé: Oh yeah, Boney. I want North and Poindexter to be in charge of natioal security. Hey who says you can't lie to Congress and sell weapons to the Iranians?
Boney: http://www.epic.org/privacy/profiling/tia/
stephenfosterklok: Poindexter was scary enough in Iran-Contra. I like how the neo-cons put these jokers on ice like Lenin or something until they get into power again, and wheel them back out
Bunnyboy: As to the Xmas volume, both episodes are also found on the season sets.
doctec: bb: as to my other question: why is the xmas show on a separate disc? is it not also included on one of the four main volumes?
doctec: oh - asked and answered
doctec: thanks!
Bunnyboy: It's just nice to have them isolated, back to back. Oh, yesssss...
stephenfosterklok: They are always so surprised when they power them back up and they take about 2 steps and fall over again, like putting them out of circulation for 20 years erases all their problems somehow
Boney: Negroponte is in charge, Tween.
Tweenbert Souseé: And add Negroponte to the list. You're do'in a great job in Iraq, Johnnie-boy...
Boney: I wish Commandante Baldy would arrive on the wings of a duck
stephenfosterklok: everone see the NYT op-ed on the latest fun -- Ag. Dept. told to push Iraqi reconstruction success in their presentations to farmers...
Dexter Fong: He's a quack
doctec: back in a few mins
Bambi hums on the wings of a duck...
Tweenbert Souseé: Insert here...
Boney: Negroponte has more power than the Hoove did
cease: a power that can only be used for good or evil
Bambi: oh, wait that was a dove, wasn't it? silly me...
Dexter Fong settles for a little goose
stephenfosterklok: hi clem!
Tweenbert Souseé: A wackie bunch, to be sure. It'll only take a few decades to undo the damage.
Bunnyboy: If there's more than one knuckle, it ain't little.
Bambi waves to Clem! great job! :-)
Tweenbert Souseé: And now Shrub is saying that Jeb would make a great President.
Bambi: enjoying the show as always Clem!
Dexter Fong: Clem: It is just maybe my favorite of all albums
cease: austins love of cars again
stephenfosterklok: Bambi -- can't you just shout up the staircase?
||||||||| Catherwood walks up and intones "Presenting 'Hemlock Stones', just granted probation at 9:56 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
Bunnyboy: lo Hemmie!
Hemlock Stones: Greetings folks
Tweenbert Souseé: Phil is one versatile guy (as are they all). Can't believe all the characters he comes up with on this one.
Boney: Negroponte "is considered a controversial figure by some because of his involvement in the covert funding of the Contras and the coverup of human rights abuses carried out by CIA-trained operatives in Honduras in the 1980s." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Negroponte
stephenfosterklok: Hi, Hemlock!
Dexter Fong: 'eh matey! How's your mum? Hows your auto insurance
Tweenbert Souseé: Hail and well met, Englishperson.
Bambi says there are no candidates so far for any side ... unfortunately
Merlyn: what's controversial? He's scum
Boney: The guy has more power than Dulles
Bambi: hey Stones!
stephenfosterklok: Hemlock -- We are just beginning Roller Maidens
Bunnyboy: All props to the late Richard Paul, who puts in a sterling Ozzie Nelson impersonation on this album.
Tweenbert Souseé: They'll probably wait for the dust to settle from this Fall's elections, Bambi.
Merlyn: From Outer Space
doctec: god is clearly on vacation
cease: stones
Hemlock Stones: Roller Maidens is one of my faves and that of an old friend no longer with us, we used to know it by heart
llanwydd: has negroponte actually been there that long?
stephenfosterklok: yeah, Negroponte ought to be squirming as Daniel Ortega seems poised to reappear in Nicaragua
Bunnyboy: And fitful Tweeny and Shortstop on Ossman's HOW TIME FLYS.
Boney: It's controversial that he's been given oversight of U.S. intelligence
Merlyn: an impersonation of Sterling Holloway doing Ozzie Nelson?
stephenfosterklok: maybe he can send four more nuns down there to fight him...
Boney: No one should have that much power, much less Negroponte.
doctec: sfk: lol - good one!
Tweenbert Souseé: SA is really out of control, at least as the neo-cons are concerned.
Tweenbert Souseé: If only that were funny, Klok. Truly ironic, though.
Bunnyboy: brb...chattering with muh mate.
doctec: comedy = tragedy + time
Tweenbert Souseé: "The price of vigilance is eternal irony". - Paul Krassner
Dexter Fong: It'll all be alright as soon as the "Da Vinci Code" opens
Merlyn: that mean tragedy = comedy - time
doctec: dex: yeah that'll set 'em all straight
cease: soupark had a great episode about that, doc
cease: the aids episode
Mudhead: sorry folkz, still bein beat up by my programmer
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
stephenfosterklok: I was just reading a long analysis of the C-295 EADS sale to Venezuela in Defense Industry Daily. What a can of worms for Spain and the US. Same site, Norway is getting antsy about the same tech transfer regs and may end up not buying F-35s. If the neo-cons persist, they'll succeed in killing the F-35
doctec: merl: i'm not sure it's adversely proportional
Boney: He's probably more worried about Fidel Castro and Cesar Chavez... And Brazil and Mexico and much of the rest of South America
Tweenbert Souseé: C'mon... shew yerself... Great faux Kristofferson
Merlyn: time = comedy - tragedy?
Boney: Where is Commandante Baldy when we need him?
stephenfosterklok: Cesar Chavez is dead
cease: in more ways than one, klok
Merlyn: nowadays people will do anything for a tankful
doctec: cat: i am just getting around to catching up on a lot of southparks i've missed the last 2-3 yrs ... i haven't seen that one yet but knowing comedy central, i will see it again for the first time soon!
Boney: Hugo
doctec: i'm very tankful these days
Dexter Fong: tragedy/perspective = comedy
Tweenbert Souseé: We have a street named for CEzar in Austin. Probably not all that unusual in the Southwest.
cease: you and the us army
doctec: 2 + 2 = 5, for extremely large values of 2
llanwydd: chavez is dead, klok?
Dexter Fong: doc: lol
||||||||| Catherwood steals into the room, and intones "Announcing 'principalpoop', also known as 'Nancy' -- the time is 10:03 PM" -- then he slowly retires back into the vestibule...
Bambi: I'm short on tanks LOL
llanwydd: hey pp!
Bambi: hi princep!
Dexter Fong: Triple P
Tweenbert Souseé: We had a guy here who had a great scam going for a while. He'd offer to powerwash gas stations and steal hundreds of gallons of gas at a time.
doctec: hey pp
principalpoop: even ing
Hemlock Stones: HI PP
Tweenbert Souseé: Evenin' P...
principalpoop: dreamin the same dream
cease: freely
doctec: love this graphic - http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2006/05/10/washington/20060510_POLL_GRAPHIC.html
Merlyn: AFK for a bit...
stephenfosterklok: Cesar Chavez is dead. Hugo Chavez is alive and well and profiled in The Observer last Sunday: http://observer.guardian.co.uk/review/story/0,,1769146,00.html
Bambi: at nearly $3/gal ... I only put in about $10 today that should get me around the block a few times in the Honda
Dexter Fong: afk for refill
Boney: China made a deal to drill for oil offshore Cuba? I think so.
doctec: $10 of gas gets your jaguar out of the driveway
Bambi: oh, and it was 'fortified' with ethanol at that price
Tweenbert Souseé: Willie's biodiesel is $2.78. Makes me want a diesel wagon in the near future.
llanwydd: did caeasar chavez really die?
doctec: tween: yeah but your car smells like french fries
Tweenbert Souseé: Yeah, I'd love to own an XJS-12 these days, LOL
stephenfosterklok: doctec -- ROFL
stephenfosterklok: doctec -- I missed that graphic
Bambi: pretty bad when you have to pay full 'gas' rates for ethanol 'fortified' fuel
Tweenbert Souseé: Mr. Chavez has passed, but his legacy lives on.
doctec: it was in this sunday's times - robotwisdom.com has the link today
Boney: a 1964 Chrysler Newport?
Bambi: good one doc LOL
Tweenbert Souseé: Great graphic...
||||||||| Dave sashays in at 10:07 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Tweenbert Souseé: Convertable, Bone...
Dave: hello all
llanwydd: I will forever remember chavez by grapes
doctec: hey dave
Hemlock Stones: hi Dave
llanwydd: Hey Dave!
Tweenbert Souseé: I can't let you do that, Dave...
Boney: Convertable to what?
principalpoop: nice knocker dave
Bambi: hi Dave!
Tweenbert Souseé: So how's Denver treatin' ya, Dave?
Boney: You could roll up the windows and use it as a small greenhouse
Hemlock Stones: knockers come in pairs PP
Bambi: give that obsidian knocker back right now ... I mean it LOL!
Boney: you could open the hood, remove the engine and put a wading pool for baby ducks in there
principalpoop: a mixture of meatloaf and the song about driving to drinking with the lincoln
Tweenbert Souseé: I love the mid-60's convertables. My family had a 66 Chrysler Town and Country. Freakin' tank.
Dave: we is having difficulties, the page doesn't refresh when I send messages it seems
Dexter Fong: Just got your last msg Dave
Tweenbert Souseé: Done anything to the HTML code, Merl?
principalpoop: you need to tap enter after you finish typing
Dave: just trivialities, I'll be slower than this having to refresh manually when I send something
Tweenbert Souseé: P is so helpful LOL
principalpoop: should I type faster dave?
Bambi: that would likely be a IE thing thanks to Eolas patent thing ... hit enter twice if using IE
Dexter Fong: wake up cat
Dave: oh dear, the text lines are fucked somehow, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, just saying
Tweenbert Souseé: Lil' Deer to the rescue...
principalpoop: that is us dave, we are fucked up, relax
Dexter Fong: Dave try to refresh the page
cease: i am very sleepy today
stephenfosterklok: afk to fress
cease: hard to stay awake
principalpoop: I just had a nap
llanwydd: got mail. brb
Dexter Fong: Fress Bubalal, fress
doctec: if you have having problems with this chat, aks for help from the magic 8 ball - http://www.joyandbobby.com/8ball/index.html
principalpoop: still in the dream
Tweenbert Souseé: Had one of those sleepy joe sandwiches at Mernoches, eh Cat?
cease: that must be it, tween
doctec: et two bruno?
Bambi: LOL Tween ... I am just guessing but I have hated using IE even more since they complied with the Eolas patent thing...glad I rarely open it LOL
Dave: no I don't think it's an ie thing Bambi cause Brian had this in the code...until tonight, Brian's probably going nutx cause I showed up, and it may look great visually, but it's hard to read right now, the text line amount is not the 4 or 5 it used to be
Tweenbert Souseé: IE doesn't support the Mac anymore. Aw, shucks ;)
principalpoop: somebody playing with fonts or something?
Tweenbert Souseé: Can't you use Firefox, Dave?
Merlyn: Dave, are you sure you have manual refesh on? My test chat doesn't show the notice if it's manual
Bambi: ah, ok Dave ... oh, well ... and Merlyn was away for abit
Tweenbert Souseé: Wicked fast rendering engine compared to IE.
doctec: get firefox at http://www.mozilla.com
Boney: open the trunk and put a planter willed with salvia. http://www.sito.org/cgi-bin/gridcosm/gridcosm?level=2562
Boney: slippage
Dave: I don't have firefox, the screen reader supports it, I just haven't had time to learn it so I've stuck with IE
Bambi: ah, there's the Wizard now :-)
Dexter Fong: Kill it and eat it!!
Merlyn: Dave, what changed on your end? Different browser? OS?
Tweenbert Souseé: Worth the change, Dave. Much better features.
Bambi whistles and says Windows Updates maybe?
Tweenbert Souseé: They give you a brick to throw, Bambi?
Dave: nothing changed on my end, it's the online/cni frame that's different, also the lack of refresh when I press enter to send messages, and the lines of text are far greater than they were, there are a good...10 to 11 lines of chat history as compared to 5 or 6 at a time
Dexter Fong whistles the wedding March from Lohengrin and looks around for the food
Boney: Camino here.
principalpoop: the mexican guy from chips?
Dave: that's true, my computer does do the update thing automatically so I have no idea what could have been slapped on there
Boney: The browser, not the car
Dexter Fong: BONEY : keep Camino Real
Merlyn: Dave, you aren't using manual refresh - your refresh rate is 1, which is wrong
Tweenbert Souseé: Had an '82, Bone, with a 305 and 4 on the floor. Really sorry I parted with it.
Dave: also the "send" button is gone, not essentual but good for orientation as to where I am
Merlyn: and you're getting 10 lines of output because that's what numlines is
principalpoop: change that refresh rate to, ahh something other value
Boney: Or you could close the trunk of the '64 Newport and grow truffles in there.
Tweenbert Souseé: Whoa. Serious malfunctioning there, Dave.
Dexter Fong shuffles through the truffles
Merlyn: Dave, log out and back in again - if you use a bookmark, it must've gotten messed up
principalpoop: was dylan at the 64' newport?
Dave: I put it on manual, and never changed the text lines, the reader tells me that the refresh is blocked
Tweenbert Souseé: You could sleep 5 in one of those trunks.
Dexter Fong: Poop: Yes
||||||||| "Hey Dave!" ... Dave turns, and sees Bradshaw approching with the handcuffs, and is dragged away, screaming "it's only 10:19 PM, I don't have to go yet!"...
Tweenbert Souseé: Or 3 Dylans.
Boney: Put five piglets in there and let them eat the truffles
Dexter Fong: Poor Dave, how humiliating
Dexter Fong: ...and his watch is fast too
Tweenbert Souseé: Just finished watching Wall Street again. What a great movie, speaking of being dragged off in handcuffs.
principalpoop: truffles are mushrooms without the magic
doctec: back in a few minutes
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Dave disembarks at 10:21 PM.
Boney: Ducklings, piglets... What barnyard animal could withstand the greenhouse?
Dexter Fong: I was dragged off in handcuffs...cost me 300 dollars....woprth every cent
Dave: ah weird, really really weird
Dexter Fong: Welcome back Dave
Boney: If you're a pig, truffles are magic
principalpoop: that usually happens dave
Merlyn: OK, now you're manual
Dave: really really fucking weird! works fine now
principalpoop: thumpa-thumpa-thumpa
Dexter Fong: Piglet and the magic Truffles
principalpoop: glad to hear it
Dave: sorry for the confusion, you may now return to your irregularly disgruntled programming
ah,clem: ...
Tweenbert Souseé: You were at the Mustang Ranch, Dex?
Dave: brb
Dexter Fong: LOL Dave
Boney: Frenchman Jean Piglet
stephenfosterklok: tweeny -- I get the feeling now like I got in '73, listening to the Watergate hearings. Sounds like there are a whole bunch of shoes (and handcuffs) about to drop
Dave: god that was weird! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird!
principalpoop: all you need was to bitch-slap IE into submission, you are becoming a republican pimp dave
Dexter Fong: Yeah Tween, fine bunch a young fillies there
Boney: Jean-Paul Piglet... the psychologist or philosopher... something like that
stephenfosterklok: TPM last night said Duke in poor health, so 8 years looks like a lot at his age
stephenfosterklok: but he's keeping mum
Merlyn: this bit is weird too
Boney: from Champigny
cease: yes that was on maddow this morning
Dexter Fong: A shwein hund!!
cease: for duke, every day is mum's day
stephenfosterklok: only thing I can figure is that he expects a P-A-R-D-O-N on 19 Jan 2009
Dexter Fong: Schwine Hunds on the Meadow
principalpoop: be nice to the NSA tonight, make sense please
Boney: Vente et location de voiturettes de golf. Présentation de la gamme.
stephenfosterklok: what is interesting is that it is looking like the guy he expects to be there is looking like a long shot to finish the term
Dexter Fong: Boney< El Pato
Tweenbert Souseé: I have a gamme leg. I have to use a golf cart.
Bambi: Stones, Bunny, llandwydd and Mudhead ... you are fading ;-)
Merlyn: my horse has a back gamme leg

principalpoop: penchant, truffles, pigs, golf, tango, victor, frankenstein
Dave: I'm gonna teach my dog to find pretty girls, get a playboy pic and tell him to follow it, or "find the supermodel sparky"
Dexter Fong: Cat: Those little guys are always more active
||||||||| It's 10:30 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| llanwydd - dead from the common cold
||||||||| Mudhead - dead from Globner's disease
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Boney: Looking forward to the hearings, klok. I'm hoping that Commandante Baldy will return to Pacifica to cover the story. As for former Rep. "Duke" Cunningham... I'm back to work on Top Gun's Naked Leather Holster. Adios.
cease: good idea, dave

Dexter Fong: Come out into the desert and sample my dry goods
Merlyn raises his hand

Dexter Fong: Cat: Toronto was founded by Tonto and thor

principalpoop: don't call me an A head
Bunnyboy: i.e. "The President sDaidSaid move these demonsdemonsetc."
Bambi: yes, Stones ... seems more prophetic than scifi now

Tweenbert Souseé: Sounds like something similar is going on with the DVD format, Bambi.
Bambi: yes, I saw that Tween
principalpoop: what happened to her lips?
cease: they turned into flowers
Bunnyboy: Peter Bergman is about the only performer I've ever heard us the expression "A-hole"...and repeatedly.
Tweenbert Souseé: I saw them do this live in D.C. back in 1973. As far as I know, it's all live Bun, but they might have used tape queues. Don't know.
Hemlock Stones: The FT boys were not just clever writers and actors, the production and mixing on their albums was exceptional, i still have the vinyl
principalpoop: DWD was super, but never got off the ground

Tweenbert Souseé: No doubt, Stones.

doctec: sfk: she has not aged that well... but it appears she's still with corbin bernsen - i thought they broke up a while back - maybe they got back together?
principalpoop: corbin was in the movie with the 3 stones and the girl with orange hair
stephenfosterklok: doctec -- WTF? She has four kids, looks great for her age
Bunnyboy: Tween: Well, as an example, I've heard several of those Martian Space Party segments "dry", without the swoopers. I can only assume the sweetened other sections, as well.
doctec: the fifth element
stephenfosterklok ponders how do you "age well"?
principalpoop: neon?
Hemlock Stones: the only person i have heard who could mix audio as good as FT was Lee Perry
doctec: sfk: well, the imdb gallery pix do not do her justice imho

Tweenbert Souseé: Yeah, me too, I afraid. Stuff to do before bedtime. Until last time, again, via con Grid (and don't forget to support Seein' Eye Radio :)
Dexter Fong: Night Bunny
||||||||| At 11:03 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, Tweenbert Souseé!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
Mark Time: good night all, been too short...be well
Dexter Fong: Klock: What promo. tje Bergman bit?
stephenfosterklok: nite Mark
principalpoop: fast tween
||||||||| 11:03 PM -- Mark Time left for parts unknown.   (Entry from Nick Danger's "Idiots I Have Been Paid To Follow").

principalpoop: dropping like flies

Bambi: drat
Bunnyboy: We are toast, as well.
stephenfosterklok: it's a way to avoid predators, Bambi
Dexter Fong: How Rye
||||||||| Bunnyboy hurries out the back door as Mayor P'nisnose blasts through the front door holding a shotgun and shouting "Where's Bunnyboy?! It's 11:05 PM and my ballot boxes haven't been stuffed yet!"
principalpoop: don't play that again soon ahhh, clem lol
Bambi: didn't even get to say good bye before they left
Bambi: lol
stephenfosterklok: dex -- i thought Bambi said you had somethyng to do wit it
principalpoop: what comes on at 11 est?
Bambi: ah, well at least I got to say bye to Bunny before he left
Dexter Fong: Bambi: Say goodbye after they leave, get half credit
principalpoop: yes it is the thought that counts
ah,clem: actually, it was produced by a friend and fellow cni listener, Tweak, the kid is this nephew I beleive
Bambi: don't know ... don't watch commercial televisoin
stephenfosterklok: dunno, Poop, 11 est isn't for another hour
principalpoop: I don't either lol
||||||||| Outside, the 11:06 PM downtown bus from California pulls away, leaving Boney coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
principalpoop: I used to know all 4 stations for the entire week lol
Bambi: because of the reference to Ash I thought he did
Dexter Fong Claps Boney on the back, sets off another fit of coughing
stephenfosterklok: showoff, you had four stations?
principalpoop: what time is it catherwood?
||||||||| Catherwood says "It's 11:07 PM"
principalpoop: 5, 6 on a good day
Dexter Fong: Klok: Big deal, Mary has twelve stations
stephenfosterklok: so Bambi, where did it come from?
Boney: fit of coughing, my Don Imus impersonation.
Bambi: night Boney
principalpoop: washington dc
Bambi: oh, wait
Bambi: he's just getting back LOL
principalpoop: careful with that lung
Dexter Fong: Klok: But you'll have to wait until the "Da Vinci Code" comes out
Bambi: Apparently Tweak recorded it of a nephew of his
stephenfosterklok: get an iron one
Dexter Fong: I got a woody, Klok
stephenfosterklok: Dex -- is there something we should know; it's still in the closet?
principalpoop: they can grow organs now, from your cells
Dexter Fong: Klok: So is my old Tuxedo
principalpoop: internal organs, be nice dexter
Hemlock Stones: wont sound as good as my old Farfisa PP
Dexter Fong: Ah.. internal organs...like the Hoff Kirche in Heidelsburg
Dexter Fong: Germans discovered weather ios no good for organs
principalpoop: I dated farfisa, or her sister nearlisa
stephenfosterklok: Dex -- from the original Godzilla; that is what the Japanese Prefect called Raymond Burr in his first scene in the movie. It's translated into "he's stern" or something (some kind of sop to the Germans, I guess)
stephenfosterklok: Dex -- didja see that church in Germany that's set up an organ to play a John Cage piece for 631 years?
Dexter Fong: Klok Jah!
Bambi: lol
principalpoop: vunderbar
Hemlock Stones: will the recording be available on DVD Klok ?
Dexter Fong: Johann Cage uber Alles Church of the Impatient
Bambi: does John Cage know he has to play that piece for 631 years? he may wish he'd never written it lol
principalpoop: I like his brother nicholas and nephew animal cage
Dexter Fong: Satones: IN Audiophile ambiance...600 years of room sound
Hemlock Stones: does he play with his organ the way he does with his piano ??
stephenfosterklok: Hemlock -- in abbreviated form, yes, at least the first volume. Not sure if it'll be released on DVD, though, since you'll be able to call it up at will anywhere in the galaxy
stephenfosterklok: Bambi -- he died several years ago to get out of that gig
Dexter Fong: Stones: Did you ever hear his raylud on a Chromiun Switch?
Dexter Fong: praylude
Hemlock Stones: could be the biggest MP3 in the Universe Klok
stephenfosterklok: I always thought that calling Burr "the iron one" was kinda funny...
Bambi: yes, I figured he had ... most artists don't make it really big till after they die
principalpoop: what number mp is blair?
Dexter Fong: Klok: Yes, kinda Ironic
Hemlock Stones: With Cage, i am often not sure what i have heard Dexter
Hemlock Stones: MP 0 PP
principalpoop: brass balls to make that pun fong
Dexter Fong: Stones: If you put on the electronic collar, outlines of composition soon become evident
principalpoop: zero? the conservatives must have been negative numbers
Hemlock Stones: i already have one of them on my ankle, was hopin it was enough
Dexter Fong: Brass Balls + Irony = Thermostat
stephenfosterklok: Hemlock -- well, it's probably going to be like "The Messiah" where you get the version without all the recitatives
Bambi: LOL! real album sounds ... including skipping lol
Boney: http://tinyurl.com/zkumw
Hemlock Stones: Blair is the man that put the Hole in Ass
principalpoop: lool
Bambi: brass? are you sure of that Dex?
Dexter Fong: ollo
Dexter Fong: Yes Bambi, A bi-metal strip is thermo sensitive
stephenfosterklok: hey, we lost the Canadian tonight, so no more of their socialist "play canadian" crap. besides, Morrisette makes plenty moola already
Hemlock Stones: and without the Handles Klok
Bambi: lol
Dexter Fong: my name ah..
principalpoop: wake up ahh, clem
principalpoop: thanks
Dexter Fong: Trusty Champagne Gong
stephenfosterklok: Hemlock -- I never got a chance to listen to The Clash version. It was a $$ import double album and I was impoverished
stephenfosterklok: they said it was gonna be cleansed of any dead white european influence, though
principalpoop: I hope you are you poved now klok
Merlyn: see ya next week, folx
stephenfosterklok: poop -- no, all the tufted poovers left this AM, flew south
stephenfosterklok: nite Merlyn
||||||||| Merlyn hurries out the back door as Mayor P'nisnose blasts through the front door holding a shotgun and shouting "Where's Merlyn?! It's 11:21 PM and my ballot boxes haven't been stuffed yet!"
principalpoop: night m, get the orcs
Bambi: it was sure nice to hear Roller Maidens earlier
Bambi: haven't heard that in quite a while
Bambi: wb Merlyn
Bambi: woops
principalpoop: the neked poovers stayed behind? shameless
Bambi: night Merlyn
principalpoop: woops is politcally incorrects bambi
principalpoop: not insane papoon
Boney: Merl... Big guy with a beard? Little House on the Prarie? A jock, announced NFL football games on NBC for awhile?
stephenfosterklok: the performance of "Organ2/ASLSP," a version of the John Cage composition titled "As Slow as Possible." http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/06/arts/music/06chor.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
Bambi: Thanks Clem!
principalpoop: wait, catherwood used my time zone...
||||||||| Catherwood says "It's 11:24 PM"
Hemlock Stones: where can i get the dub version of that Klok ?
principalpoop: wow
Bambi: if you get a chance to stop by Saturday night to listen to CNI Radio for the JimmyLee and Bambi Show and some more Firesign Theatre thereafter, it would be great to see ya there. http://www.cniradio.com
principalpoop: that is him boney
principalpoop: seemed a little light in his slippers
ah,clem: good night everyone!
Hemlock Stones: i usually catch your shows on Sunday Bambi

Boney: klok, if Bergman covers the hearings next year, I hope that Pacifica will put his stuff on DVD for a fat premium
Hemlock Stones: thanks again to Clem and Bambi
Bambi: LOL, ok, on Sundays for those in the UK and beyond
stephenfosterklok: nite poop
stephenfosterklok: great show clem, Bambi
stephenfosterklok: The piece, which began on Sept. 5, 2001, is not scheduled to end until 2640. But there will probably be a break after the first movement, which lasts a mere 71 years.
Bambi: night princep
principalpoop: click klok :D
Hemlock Stones: yes lol
Boney: scandal has never been so entertaining
principalpoop: gngl
Hemlock Stones: but what time does the bar close Klok ???
principalpoop: a mere 71 years?
Bambi: that would be 7-10 PM, Saturday (ET) so others can work out their time zone :-)
stephenfosterklok: Hemlock -- it's a variant of the 12-bar blues, so I think there's always one available
stephenfosterklok: Bambi -- summer time
Hemlock Stones: ah thats reassuring ty klok
principalpoop: he could not have written a song that long, just it just say repeat this section for 60 years?
Bambi: yes, summer time :-)
stephenfosterklok: Poop -- "As Slow As Possible" is the key
||||||||| ah,clem rushes off, saying "11:28 PM? Mark Time is almost on! Where's a radio?"
Bambi: nice to have the summer back
stephenfosterklok: They are going to change the current chord in 2008 sometime
Bambi: much better than bitter cold winter
principalpoop: wow, I might go to that
Hemlock Stones: what key was it originally Klok A Rush
principalpoop: 40s 80s 50s I am confused
Boney: Reality calls... SO wants to go grocery shopping... Nite
stephenfosterklok: Poop -- it started out with a rest, so they just turned the organ on and let it sit there for 20 months
stephenfosterklok: nite Boney
Hemlock Stones: good night Boney
Bambi: night Boney
Bambi: I am outa here too ... great to see you all!
Boney: tell me if Baldy ever shows up

Bambi: Nytol!
stephenfosterklok: since 5 Sept. 2001
principalpoop hug bambi, night night

Boney: Catherwood please hug Bambi
||||||||| Catherwood hugs bambi
Hemlock Stones: i have to go now friends, have an excellent week and see you same time next show
||||||||| Boney leaves to catch the 11:31 PM train to Billville.
Hemlock Stones: good night all
stephenfosterklok: nite Hemlock
principalpoop: same to you stones, and sanchez too
Hemlock Stones: ty PP will pass words to Honey
Hemlock Stones: gnite
||||||||| Hemlock Stones rushes off, saying "11:32 PM? Mark Time is almost on! Where's a radio?"
principalpoop: cheerio old what

Dexter Fong: sorry, wife arrived home just a few
principalpoop: I like jean-luc ponti, he goes flying like cage also

stephenfosterklok: as for me, I'm going to leave the chat open for another half or so to see what happens, but I'm gonna fix a snack
principalpoop: I agree klok
principalpoop: chat voyeur, shameless
stephenfosterklok: fallingstars.co.kr is playing Sting's "Dead Man's Rope"
principalpoop: I will save bandwidth and log off this ahh log, toodles
||||||||| It's 11:40 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Bambi - dead from Globner's disease
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
stephenfosterklok: good - night, then, Poop
stephenfosterklok: I'm still here, if anyone shows up, until I'm not. Gonna tend to the snack now
stephenfosterklok: For service, please hit the bell to the left on the counter. Please do not keep ringing the bell. I'll get here as quick as I can. Ain't as young as I used to be...
||||||||| It's 11:50 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| principalpoop - dead from the yaws
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| It's 12:00 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Dexter Fong - dead from jaundice
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Dexter Fong steals in around 12:00 AM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last night's "unpleasant incident."
||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..
Dexter Fong: Hiyah Klok...what's snackin'?
Dexter Fong: Night Klok, and good digestion =)
||||||||| It's 12:10 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Dexter Fong - dead from the yaws
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
stephenfosterklok: hey, Dex
stephenfosterklok: hmm. too late
||||||||| LiliLamont sneaks in around 12:18 AM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last month's "unpleasant incident."
stephenfosterklok: I'll be here another 10 min. myself, folx
stephenfosterklok: hey, lili
LiliLamont: Hey, Klok. I see the gang has left the building.
stephenfosterklok: yeah
stephenfosterklok: everyone got the sleepies early
stephenfosterklok: see log
LiliLamont: Did Phil show up this evening?
stephenfosterklok: very strange
stephenfosterklok: nope
stephenfosterklok: Godot isn't here yet, either
LiliLamont: Hmmm. I know doc was on, but I was taking my evening nap, and now he is.
stephenfosterklok: I can sell you a synchronizer if you want
stephenfosterklok: hardly used
stephenfosterklok: I would hope he's taking more than a nap at this hour...
stephenfosterklok: ;-)
LiliLamont: Nah, won't work. The past few nights have been tough. He wakes up at 2am and works on the computer, or I wake up screaming from a bad dream, which wakes him up. Yeesh......
LiliLamont: No, seriously, he's asleep on the couch right now and I'm wide awake.
LiliLamont: When does Godot usually show up?
stephenfosterklok: well, this is a good synchronizer from a Borg-Warner T-10, not one of those tinfoil things from a japanese car that wears out in 30,000 miles
stephenfosterklok: Lili -- Don't know. I've never stayed for the end of that play
LiliLamont: Hey, don't knock Japanese cars. Mine is almost 9 years old and it's still going strong. Good thing, since I'm in no position to buy another one. Being out of work sucks.
stephenfosterklok: amen
LiliLamont: And NPR has been running vignettes about cancer which I can relate to, so I hope I outlive my car.
stephenfosterklok: folks in the chat were asking after you
LiliLamont: Did doc fill them in?
stephenfosterklok: do get by in prime time next week and give an update
LiliLamont: I will, I promise.
stephenfosterklok: not really, he was fairly brief and off on a sidebar much of the time
stephenfosterklok: semi-pro FST talk, you know
stephenfosterklok: reading a neat analysis of the Venezuela C-295 deal in the defense industry daily today; 295 is like a 2-engine miniature C-130
LiliLamont: Yeah, he seems almost peripherally aware of what's going on, but he's into his own thing. Perhaps it's an escape mechanism, or maybe it has become a background issue for him. Obviously, it's not a background issue for me. But I can't obsess.
stephenfosterklok: Chavez wants to help Spain by buying them, Rumsfeld wants him to get none and Spain wants their aeros. workers to have jobs
stephenfosterklok: Sure you can. Obsess and then compulse; it's very relaxing ;-)
stephenfosterklok: the whole article is this little universe of geopolitics and has 23 equations in 15 unknowns, solve for 'b'...
LiliLamont: I might be doing something for port security as a freelancer. And I got some email about a position in Maryland in the defense industry. I used to be in that, you know, outside of the Air Force.
stephenfosterklok: but in the end, the US is the 500 lb gorilla and what Lola wants...
LiliLamont: ...Lili gets. ;-)
stephenfosterklok: gee, that sounds great
LiliLamont: Port security or Maryland?
stephenfosterklok: you can borrow my scintillometer. oops, the high-voltage section is kaput...
stephenfosterklok: both
stephenfosterklok: port security sounds better if it's local (who's going to attack Bridgeport?)
LiliLamont: Wow, I've always wanted one of those.
stephenfosterklok: (although it could hardly hurt)
stephenfosterklok: you can pick 'em up for $200-500 on eBay at times
stephenfosterklok: the trick is to find 'em with a big detector crystal
LiliLamont: Actually, the office is in New Haven and controls ports in CT and NJ. They also have offices in DC and numerous other critical areas that cover the eastern seaboard.
stephenfosterklok: well, unless you're looking for Osama's shipping container with the nukes; then you want something ratty so it won't overload ;-)
stephenfosterklok: yeah, I'd say the Eastern seaboard is a critical area ;-)
stephenfosterklok: port security is getting shortchanged
stephenfosterklok: it's all a big joke to bush
LiliLamont: Speaking of nukes, I finally decided to get on the VA system for health care. It will save me money and the docs there are from Yale, because it's part of the Yale School of Medicine. One of the questions in the registration was whether I'd been exposed to any radiation. Aside from nukes in the hardened area at a SAC base......
stephenfosterklok: unless he can get some campaign contribs. out of it or screw his political opponents, he doesn't care
LiliLamont: Bush is such a fucking asshole. No wonder Cheney had to wear a bullet proof vest when he threw out the first ball for the National League.
stephenfosterklok: the nukes usually aren't that bad if they're out in the open and nobody's, like, chipping off pieces of the pits as souveniers or something ;-)
stephenfosterklok: some of the daughter products are gases, though, so indoor storage needs to be vented, at least
LiliLamont: True, but they mentioned exposure in the context of contracting various cancers, including breast.
stephenfosterklok: but we had a stadium at NC State that was a lot of Granite, and 'way back in the '60s, they realized it was Radon City after being closed up all week
LiliLamont: Shit, the hardened areas were lined in asbestos. When I got out, they checked my lungs and said, "You're OK." Not that there would be any incubation period or anything.
stephenfosterklok: back in the '60s, though, so many folks in NC smoked that even that much Radon was probably down in the noise as a cancer cause ;-)
LiliLamont: And I certainly got my share of second hand smoke riding around in a truck on the flightline.
stephenfosterklok: Asbestos is fine if it's intact. It's when it begins to fray that the problem begins. Working on brakes all day, now that is another matter...
LiliLamont: Who knows what condition it was in? Considering the fact that it was a military base, I thing corners may have been cut.
LiliLamont: think, not thing
stephenfosterklok: sometimes. the electronics I worked with always seemed gold-plated. somewhat antique, but really well-made
stephenfosterklok: especially when having to lift it into a truck :-(
stephenfosterklok: I got to design a couple of small things and it drove me crazy. They had a completely separate set of mil-spec parts
LiliLamont: You're right about that. I was always very impressed by the high quality of the parts that I installed, uninstalled, or tested. The whole system was very sophisticated.
stephenfosterklok: all of the hot chips I wanted to use were off-limits since they weren't in mil form
stephenfosterklok: the end came when they wanted an RS-232C interface. The military didn't use RS-232, so none of the chips available were rated
stephenfosterklok: worse, RS-232 goes negative and the system didn't have any negative supply voltages
stephenfosterklok: and I wasn't allowed to put a charge pump or any analog-type stuff on my board to make any
LiliLamont: Yep. I worked for a mil parts company for 6 years, and I'm sure part of the hiring criteria was my knowledge of mil specs. The differences in testing specs between commercial and mil were huge.
stephenfosterklok: but I got the last laff on the muthas. I spec'ed an external test connector providing -5V and then used a downhole oil exploration industrial RS-232 chip rated -40C instead of -55
LiliLamont: That doesn't surprise me.
LiliLamont: They're pretty strict on the temp ranges.
stephenfosterklok: I also learned that mil-spec parts are crap
stephenfosterklok: they're made on separate lines and in small batches
stephenfosterklok: I've seen 15% failure rate
stephenfosterklok: but gosh, when something fails, you can trace the whole batch in the paperwork all the way back to the middle name of the dude that shoved the wafers into the furnace on Tuesday
LiliLamont: Holy shit. That's pretty high, considering the tight tolerances for making adjustments on F-111s.
stephenfosterklok: fortunately, the semi industry, at least, has so gotten out of mil-spec parts that the mil folks are now pushing COTS (commercial off-the-shelf)
stephenfosterklok: well, think about it-- do you want parts off a line that makes 180K units per day?
stephenfosterklok: or off a line that makes 200?
LiliLamont: That's astonishing. Hey, I'm going to try to rouse doc to go upstairs.
stephenfosterklok: who is going to figure out where the screwups can happen?
stephenfosterklok: nite lili
LiliLamont: Nite, klok. Good to talk to you.
stephenfosterklok: i'm gonna bug out 2
||||||||| stephenfosterklok leaves at 12:53 AM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
LiliLamont: Bon nuit.

Pharoah Gnome Easy: I have married a which! Oh, never mind.
||||||||| Catherwood says "2:24 AM, time for SOMEONE to leave!", grabs Pharoah Gnome Easy by the collar and gives 'em the old bum's rush out the door
||||||||| "2:38 AM? 2:38 AM!!" says Catherwood, "Goldie Moldy should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Goldie Moldy enters and sits on the divan.
Goldie Moldy: On this day in history, John Lennon announced his phone was tapped by the FBI. I heard that on oldiesradio during The Ron Foster Show. See you at oldiesradioonline.com. IT’S FUNNY!
Goldie Moldy: Listen to Oldies, Catherwood. Bye Bye.
||||||||| Catherwood walks up to Goldie Moldy and mumbles "Typing my name just to rile me, eh?"
||||||||| Goldie Moldy leaves at 2:41 AM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
||||||||| Catherwood enters, and announces to all and sundry "It's 4:32 AM, time to change the log file and clean out unused rooms; please exit the chat room for a minute or two. Thank you for your patience."
