A Firesign Chat

||||||||| Catherwood re-enters the Waiting Room and explains "This is the main discussion room which is logged each night."
||||||||| Catherwood announces, "The time is 4:33 AM - I now declare Thursday's chat log for June 22, 2006 officially open!"... and then, he retires back to the vestibule...
||||||||| Catherwood enters with Bubbas's Brain close behind, grumbles something about disrupting his 7:35 PM tree-stunting plans, and runs off to the anteroom.
Bubbas's Brain: I will likely not be in tonight,... at National Audio Theatre Festival
||||||||| It's 7:51 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Bubbas's Brain - dead from the fiddlers
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, June 22, 2006 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| Catherwood stomps in at 9:02 PM, dragging Mudhead by the hair and asks "Can anyone vouch for this bozo?"
Mudhead: Get your hands off me catherwood
||||||||| Catherwood brings your hands off me.
||||||||| 9:03 PM: ah,clem jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past hour!"
Mudhead: welcome ah,clem
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and klokwkdog disembarks at 9:03 PM.
klokwkdog doesn't hear anything from CNI...
||||||||| Bambi bounds in at 9:04 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
||||||||| New CNI streaming notice: '"a few minutes with FireSign Theatre" at about 9 pm eastern'
Mudhead: I was looking for those knockers
Bambi: hello!
||||||||| Catherwood escorts cease inside, makes a note of the time (9:04 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
Mudhead: hiya
Bambi: CNI is on the way :-)
klokwkdog: it is about "9PM eastern"... :-(
Mudhead: welcome klok and cease
klokwkdog: hello cat, mudhead, clem/bambi
cease: csny is on the way out
Bambi: good to see you too
Mudhead: is it cold in here, or are you just excited to see me
Bambi: we were at at least 90 degrees today with heat indice of nearly 100
cease: i got fred's book in the mail today
cease: anyone else have it?
Bambi: true summer heat and humidity is in full swing in VA
Bambi: I hear ah,clem ... and you will too very shortly
Mudhead: I hear harpsichord
Mudhead: If Im heareing harps, does that mean Im dead?
Bambi: don't have the book here Cat
Bambi: hope not Mudhead LOL
Mudhead: well, then the deaf cant die
cease: nice to see new stuff in it.
cease: i thought it was the same as the manuscript
Mudhead: the rubber line is chewy
Mudhead: yes
Mudhead: oh boy
Bambi: no, no, no ... you are not supposed to eat the rubber line ;-)
Mudhead: oh
Mudhead: uh
Bambi: lol
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood snorts derisively: "9:12 PM and late as usual, it's Bunnyboy, just back from Funfun Town."
Bunnyboy: lo dere
cease: this sounds like the visit to planet proctor disc
Mudhead: Im gonna cover that up with thes special packs of gum I got in dads drawer
cease: hey bunny
||||||||| Catherwood enters with llanwydd close behind, grumbles something about disrupting his 9:12 PM tree-stunting plans, and runs off to the anteroom.
Bunnyboy: Mud: Tell it to Helen Keller.
Bambi: hi Bunnyboy
llanwydd: is this alt.music.rap?
cease: i think i sent this to you, right bambi?
||||||||| A time machine materializes at 9:13 PM and OtisP.Driftween waltzes out, carrying a grape from ancient Greece.
Mudhead: She wouldnt listen
OtisP.Driftween: Am I late for the opera?
Bunnyboy: Oh, no, you can't. She's dea....I mean! she's DEA...erhm....
Bambi: hi Tweeny
klokwkdog: no, this is alt.fuel.1.iq
OtisP.Driftween: Hey all...
Bambi: hi llanwydd
Mudhead: Told ya she wouldnt listen
klokwkdog: hey urself, tweeny
||||||||| Catherwood stumbles in at 9:14 PM, dragging principalpoop by the hair and asks "Can anyone vouch for this idiot?"
Bunnyboy: Can't you see that man is a NI...?
Bunnyboy: lo poop
||||||||| 9:14 PM: Dexter Fong jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past hour!"
Dexter Fong: 'lo dere
principalpoop: lo and behold
Bambi: hi princep and Dex
Mudhead: hiya all who have just arrived
llanwydd: hey dex and pricep
OtisP.Driftween: Hey P, Dex...
Bunnyboy: hiyez Dex
llanwydd: and everybody else
cease: dex, poop
principalpoop: how is every body?
Dexter Fong: 'lo dere
OtisP.Driftween: This Hal Stark stuff is pretty funny.
||||||||| cpfirezine sneaks in around 9:15 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last week's "unpleasant incident."
Mudhead: going deaf
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood pipes up: "9:15 PM and late as usual, it's Merlyn, just back from Minnesota."
Mudhead: what?
OtisP.Driftween: Yo CP
principalpoop: huh mud?
llanwydd: hi cpf
Bambi: hi cpfirezine
Bunnyboy: Good news for Mel Brooks fans: They're parsing out all those recent box-set titles into single editions is September.
Merlyn: Catherwood is on time again
||||||||| Catherwood says "It's exactly 9:16 PM!"
OtisP.Driftween: I'm ready to take a trip to Ralph Spoilsport's new and used body parts, P...
Mudhead: hes close
principalpoop: he is on time
Bunnyboy: "Otisville? OTISVILLE?!?"
cpfirezine: Hey - first time in the chat group
Mudhead: a little too close
OtisP.Driftween: Brooks has done some good stuff. History of the World is a fav.
Bunnyboy: cp: Are you Chris Paladino?
llanwydd: the only mel brooks film I actually got to see in a movie theatre was "High Anxiety", which was just alright
Bambi: well, if they are on HD DVD or Blu-Ray ... they can keep them ;-)
OtisP.Driftween: Groucho in "A Night At The Opera", Bun
principalpoop: cp charle pompedore
Bunnyboy: Wow, first freditor, now cp.
cease: bllazing saddles was funny
Merlyn: Young Frankenstein is about his best
principalpoop: neighhhhhhh
Merlyn: hey chris p
llanwydd: if I had known hitchcock back then, it would have been funnier
cpfirezine: Hey you all
cease: hey chris, were you involved with the book?
Bambi: Warner and Disney are trying to get people to buy their new HDCP compliant BS
OtisP.Driftween: Yeah, Frankenstein & Saddles are classics. Anxiety was OK, but spotty.
Bunnyboy: Otis was Lex Luthor's stooge in Donner's SUPERMAN.
Bambi: see my http://www.bambismusings.com posting for today on the details.
cpfirezine: Yes, I was involved with the book, Fred did all the work with the publisher
OtisP.Driftween: It's gettin' ugly, Bambi
Bambi: I loved all the Mel Brooks films
Merlyn: and the original "The Producers"
Merlyn: also the 12 chairs, which isn't as well known
Bunnyboy: The inimitable Ned Beatty, given both barrels by the incredible Gene Hackman.
Bambi: yes, it is Tweeny
cpfirezine: I did many of the interviews.
cease: my copy arrived today. cd too. very well done
Bambi: hi Merlyn
Bunnyboy: Merlyn: Yeah, all of those Brooks films are getting single edition releases in September.
principalpoop: cool, give us the real scoop, whatever that means
cpfirezine: Took a lot of the pictures, as noted in the book.
OtisP.Driftween: I'll be sure to investigate what they're putting into OS X 10.5 (Leopard) before I upgrade.
||||||||| 9:20 PM: porgie jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past hour!"
Bunnyboy: I have a soft spot (eww!) for TWELVE CHAIRS.
llanwydd: hey porge
Bunnyboy: "I don't LIKE people I hate!"
principalpoop: hi porgie
OtisP.Driftween: Porgie... you're a white man, tell us what to do!
Mudhead: hiya porgie
llanwydd: yeah, I think hackman is the definitive Luthor
||||||||| Catherwood ushers doctec inside, makes a note of the time (9:20 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
porgie: evening all
Bunnyboy: lo porg
OtisP.Driftween: Evenin' Doc...
doctec: another nice house today...
Mudhead: hiya doctec
Bunnyboy: hiya doc
Bambi: yes, I was thinking of you and others on OS X today ... I thought it was curious that out of the blue they move to Intel based systems
principalpoop: hi doc
cease: hey doc
llanwydd: hey doc!
Dexter Fong: hi doc
doctec: evenin' all
principalpoop: george contanza would be a good lex luther
Bambi: hey Doc ... haven't forgotten .... things just tight
OtisP.Driftween: Well, that was for several reasons, Bambi. Motorola couldn't make a chip cool enough for their new powerbook line. Also, as you know, the multi-OS platform was appealing.
doctec: bambi: no rush, i feel your pain
Bunnyboy: poop: But, unfortunately, a terrible Boris Badenov.
Bambi: thanks Doc
OtisP.Driftween: True, P.
principalpoop: I saw out-takes, too foreign for our georgie lol
Mudhead: appealing or appalling
Bunnyboy: They even had the perfect Boris cast in a smaller role in that film: Jon Polito.
ah,clem: ...
doctec: nice to 'see' you here chris
llanwydd: badenov and natasha were our introduction to the cold war
principalpoop: the liar guy from snl would be a good boris
principalpoop: ahhhh, clem
Bunnyboy: yeah, double that, Chris
Bambi: yeah, I know...that's what they said ... but can't help but wonder if the new HDCP wasn't the real reason
doctec: ('see' being a typographical construct in this instance)
cease: you still working on lodestone project, doc?
cpfirezine: Thanks Doc. It's been a while - Seattle, I think.
OtisP.Driftween: Maybe Bambi. May be...
doctec: yep - may 1999.
doctec: to be exact.
doctec: cat: just have to finish up one more component - the shopping cart has been launched tho
cpfirezine: That was a hell of a lot of fun, Seattle
Bambi: good choice Clem ... that was fun
OtisP.Driftween: What recording is this Hal Stark stuff from?
cease: yes, seattle was good times
doctec: so far, no major problems with it so i am assuming i did a good job - knock wood - :-)
principalpoop: did mel brooks do the first charlie and the chocolate factory
cease: this is from a visit to planet proctor, i think
Bunnyboy: cp: It still is. Nice and hot, today.
llanwydd: I hear it rains all the time in seattle
Bambi: not sure ... maybe clem will shed some light
cease: i dont know where it was from originaly
cease: i know pp recorded a number of the hal stark pieces
cease: some were on the rfo.com site
principalpoop: I hear it never rains in southern california
cpfirezine: Was the Hal Stark stuff from radio spots in the 80's?
doctec: lodestone is selling fred's book, hope it's selling well thru that venue. lodestone gets a lot of firesign 'foot traffic'
principalpoop: give me a virtual martini catherwood
||||||||| Catherwood gives principalpoop a virtual martini.
Bambi: but it pours...
Bunnyboy: llan: A clarification: It's often overcast is Seattle. Very few midwest-style downpours.
cease: i noticed one error in the book, which i think is from lodestone.
doctec: the hal stark stuff was proctor's contribution to bergman's 'radio free oz' web site
OtisP.Driftween: www.rfo.com gets you music & ringtones
principalpoop: catherwood pours too bambi
||||||||| Catherwood pretends not to hear principalpoop
cease: box of time is said to star ossman and ausin. actually just austin was in box
Bambi: that's great ... good for Fred and good for Bubba
Bunnyboy: John Fogerty's new concert DVD just cooks!
llanwydd: guess I heard wrong bb
cease: ausitn, mr and mrs proctor and 2 generations of ossmen are on Red Shift, which isnt mentioned
cpfirezine: What was the mistake you found?
OtisP.Driftween: Another guy who's still kikkin' butt after all these years...
Bambi: Catherwood please pour me a toasted almond with a side of 'real' onion rings
||||||||| Catherwood gets Bambi a toasted almond with a side of 'real' onion rings.
Bunnyboy: Otis: And how! He sounds better than ever.
cease: that box of time has ossman and austin. it's really just austin on that play
Merlyn: Catherwood, give me some moleskin cookies, please.
||||||||| Catherwood gives Merlyn some moleskin cookies.
doctec: looks like bergman let the domain registration of rfo.com lapse, it's now owned by a domain squatter
cease: i think that's also on the lodestone website, which is probably where fred got it
OtisP.Driftween: Gives one hope, Bun ;)
Bambi: thank you Catherwood
||||||||| Catherwood answers "You're very welcome!"
Dexter Fong: ;
cpfirezine: Where Fred got what?
OtisP.Driftween: Any groat clusters to go with that?
Merlyn: Catherwood, give me some RFO.net
||||||||| Catherwood gives Merlyn some rfonet.
Bunnyboy: Catherwood please wipe the cookies
||||||||| Catherwood walks alongside Bunnyboy and says "Something I can help with?"
Bunnyboy: then eat 'em again.
llanwydd: perhaps catherwouldn't
cease: bunny, im mainlining graphic novels these days
Bambi: lol
Bunnyboy: Ma Rainey's should be one of the spots in the Nick Danger set.
Bambi: what time is it Catherwood
||||||||| Catherwood says "It's precisely 9:31 PM!"
llanwydd: Ma Rainey actually is on "Case of the Missing Shoe"
Bunnyboy: cease: I'm doing it the episodic way, i.e. the monthlies.
cease: got 4 from local library, bought 4 more at a comics shop and ordered 4 more from amazon
Bunnyboy: And, in the case of DC's 52, weekly.
principalpoop: all flavors of yahoo are not for the blues? point of order, parlimentary inquiry...
OtisP.Driftween: Hey Porgie, I see you're from Baltimore. Ever heard of The McDonogh School?
Bunnyboy: Still about 2\3 left on V FOR VENDETTA.
doctec: http://www.lodestonecatalog.com/cgi-bin/ltmcat.cgi?DETAIL_SKU_CATI002=x
doctec: lodestone's page says that ossman and austin were in box of time
OtisP.Driftween: Oh well, Porgie's fading.
Bambi: yoohoo!
cease: i just ordered la perdida, black hole, the pushcart man and pyongyang
cease: yes, thats the mistake fred repeats in the book, doc
doctec: right
principalpoop: hi to you too bambi wheeeeeeeeee
cease: on the other hand, maybe someone will buy it expecting to hear ossman
||||||||| "9:34 PM? 9:34 PM!!" says Catherwood, "Elayne should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Elayne enters and sits on the couch.
cpfirezine: OH - It's all becoming clear in my crystal balls
llanwydd: hi elayne
Bunnyboy: hiya Elayne
Dexter Fong: Hey Elayne
doctec: hey e
principalpoop: H E
Bambi: hi E!
cease: and speaking of graphic novels, here she is
OtisP.Driftween: Yo E...
Elayne: Evenin' all. Thank goodness for chat, now I don't have to watch Double Indemnity with my husband...
Bambi: lol
Elayne: I keep telling him that Nick Danger has utterly ruined me for the "real thing."
doctec: double your indemnity, double your fun...
OtisP.Driftween: lol
Bunnyboy: El: On tape or TCM?
principalpoop: my forturne teller had 3 holes drilled in her crystal ball, she went bowling on fridays
Elayne: Besides which, Raymond Chandler really didn't write for a female audience. :)
llanwydd: I've seen DD, but one doesn't have to see that one twice
Elayne: On TCM, Bunnyboy.
llanwydd: good film though
Bambi: Nick Danger is the best :-)
Mudhead: did she predict her scores?
doctec: ray was a bit of a chauvinist
llanwydd: tcm is showing billy wilder films tonight
Bunnyboy: DOUBLE INDEMNITY finally streets on DVD in August.
Elayne: My friend Dorian was a major Raymond Chandler fan. She adored noir, probably still does. It's just not my kind of thing.
OtisP.Driftween: Did you catch the scene at the end of Amazon where Carrie Fischer's boyfriend walks into the wall? Oh, my eye...
Elayne: Yep, Llan, we just sat through the documentary preceding the films.
cease: speaking of female audiences, are you famliar with Miriam Katin's We Are On Our Own?
Bambi: yes, it was a good film ... not too many in that era were actually bad lol
Elayne: Robin even stayed awake for the first hour of it.
Elayne: Sorry no, Cat.
principalpoop: a comeback to that joke, I have been thrown in a funk
Bambi: yes, I did Tweeny! And it plays great in FC5 too!
cease: sort of a female Maus
doctec: holy cow - is cni playing the *soundtrack* to the movie version of eat or be eaten?
llanwydd: If I stay awake I'm going to tape "Ivan the Terrible" on tcm. very late
OtisP.Driftween: I believe they borrowed heavily from FST for a couple of scenes there. Proctor insists they had nothing to do with the script.
doctec: no - not eat or be eaten - tv or not tv
Bambi: I haven't been in Windows for days now LOL
doctec: sorry
cease: a mother and duaghter fleeing nazis in hungary. very moving.
OtisP.Driftween: FC5?
Bunnyboy: El: Chandler just did the screenplay, with Wilder. James M. Cain wrote the novel.
OtisP.Driftween: Gee, do you miss it Bambi? lol
Mudhead: no doctec, its usually meds or food
Elayne: Doesn't exactly sound like light reading, Cat.
cease: i gather you've left the comic world pretty much, eh el?
Bambi: Not at all Tweeny
Elayne: Well, my husband still works there, Cat. But I'm mostly out of touch with a lot of the social goings-on since I no longer work in Manhattan.
cease: no, it isnt light reading but then firesign isnt light listening
doctec: i'd swear that the 'give up this day' segment came from that flick
Bambi: my main computer is very happy with dual boot between WinXP and FC5
cease: now i can read reviews of graphic novels in mainstream media all the time, which prompts me to buy a lot more product
Merlyn: A weekend to a dog is a fortnight for humans
OtisP.Driftween: Ah, I take it FC5 is Linux then...
doctec: FC5 = fedora core i assume
cease: i thinik dogs still have a better sense of time than my parents
llanwydd: I've got a question for anyone who knows. It puzzles me. Why are Mark Time's "memory loops" radioactive?
Elayne: Just not enough time in the day for me to read everything I want to any more, Cat. Especially since my commute is currently car-based.
Bambi: how have you been feeling Elayne?
OtisP.Driftween: lol Cat...
OtisP.Driftween: As in an active radio?
Elayne: A little less tired, Bambi. But still logy, like I'll never catch up with all the things on my plate.
Dexter Fong: llan: They were stored to close to the reactor
principalpoop: and I bet they smell better
Bambi: yes, doc that would be the Linux flavor of which I speak
cpfirezine: I finally got the "Just Folks" CD. It was better than I remembered it. Who did the transfer from vinyl?
Merlyn: everything's a little bit radioactive
llanwydd: aha
Merlyn: except a dead radio
doctec: 'just folks' vinyl transfer was handled by john at lodestone
Bambi: glad to hear it ... sure takes time to recuperate from stuff like that
OtisP.Driftween: I need to pick up that one, along with This Country...
doctec: he's quite adept with the digital editing suite he uses ('waves', i think but don't quote me)
cpfirezine: He did a nice job. I heard a couple rough spots, but I'm not sure if they were from the transfer or from the original session.
principalpoop: milken boski must be a neighbor of hall stark, or george carlin
Dexter Fong: Boski is bosco
cease: very 80s
principalpoop: I agree
doctec: millken boski is an amalgam of michael millken and iven boeski
llanwydd: I remember bosco
doctec: bosco, cocoa marsh - those were the days
principalpoop: bosco or ovaltine?
Dexter Fong: Kids! Don't forget your Ovaltine
Mudhead: What?
OtisP.Driftween: And we couldn't wait to grow up ;)
Bambi: me too ... bosco and ovaltine ... I liked the Nestle Quik better than either one of them lol
OtisP.Driftween: Little did we know...
principalpoop: ahhh, I beat the fong, I beat the fong, are you ok tonight dexter?
cease: is it still oval?
principalpoop: hersheys rules
llanwydd: my grandmother used to give me bosco and she let me lick the spoon
doctec: quik was the best, provided one could get all the powder to dissolve
Dexter Fong: Cat: It's now an oblate spheroid
Merlyn: What? I didn't hear that
Mudhead: what?
cease: geat pbs show about archimedes the other day
OtisP.Driftween: Sounds just fine, Clem. Thranks for the server work...
Bunnyboy: There's a box of COLOR HONEYMOONERS out next week, all you Sheila Macrae and Jane Kean fans.
principalpoop: they made strawberry quik too, ewwwww
OtisP.Driftween: Colorized? Ugh...
doctec: yeah, the strawberry stuff was vile
principalpoop: yes, thanks for your efforts again ahhh, clem
OtisP.Driftween: Immortality is quite good.
llanwydd: archimedes was screwy
Dexter Fong: Locored Honeymooners? Amos IS Ralph Kramden
ah,clem :)
Dexter Fong: Colored
Bambi: Yes, Hershey's chocolate syrup ... makes best chocolate milk around
principalpoop: yes vile, they should have a picture of strawberry quik in the dictionary for that
Mudhead: Catherwood get Bambi some chocolate milk
||||||||| Catherwood gets bambi some chocolate milk.
principalpoop: but the name bosco sounds much better
Bunnyboy: tween: No, no, no! They were filmed in color. Back in the sixties, man, on THE JACKIE GLEASON SHOW.
Bambi: little did we know that when we thought we were getting all that good calcium from drinking milk, albeit chocolate milk that the chocolate inhibited calcium from absorbing ...
Bambi: thank you Catherwood and Mudhead ... yummy!
||||||||| Catherwood strides over to Bambi and inquires "Did you want something?"
principalpoop: liar!, chocolate is good for us
Bunnyboy: And there's a "best-of" set of early syndicated SCTV eps, coming in October.
||||||||| Catherwood enters with Hemlock Stones close behind, grumbles something about disrupting his 9:48 PM tree-stunting plans, and runs off to the Aviary.
Bambi: yes, I did Catherwood but you were not listening lol
||||||||| Catherwood walks right past Bambi
OtisP.Driftween: Glad to hear it. Colorizing make work technically, but people shot for B&W with a particular technique. I've never neen anything colorized that I liked.
Dexter Fong: Hey Stones
Bambi: hi Stones!
OtisP.Driftween: may work
doctec: (lland says:) didn't realize that, bambi. somehow I didn't feel deprived, though
Hemlock Stones: .........and greetings to all of you who are not here
Elayne: Hello Stone!
doctec -)
Bambi: great article you sent along today
OtisP.Driftween: Who ever colorizes Hitchcock should be taken out and shot.
principalpoop: hip hip stones
Mudhead: Tween how could you tell
llanwydd: test
Bunnyboy: lo hemmie
Mudhead: if it was done right, you wouldnt notice it
Hemlock Stones: i trust i find you all in good spirits
Elayne: Be right back, forgot to take my BP.
OtisP.Driftween: Well, some of us are not all there either...
principalpoop: i saw your test llan
llanwydd: had doc on PM. oops
doctec: hee hee
OtisP.Driftween: Smooth sailing, Stones...
Hemlock Stones: good to hear that Tweenm its given me a lift
cease: well i'm off to restaurant. see y'all next week
Bambi: yes, for sure Stones ... had my obligatory toasted almond but added some real onion rings to the mix this week lol
OtisP.Driftween: Following the World Cup, Stones?
doctec: enjoy, cat
principalpoop: fine here, and how are things across the big pond?
||||||||| cease is forcibly ejected just as the clock strikes 9:50 PM.
Dexter Fong: Be well Cat
Bunnyboy: oh! bye cat!
principalpoop: bon ap cat
Hemlock Stones: same as usualy PP, government telling lies and in the shit again
llanwydd: bit of an msntv2 problem. I will have to go out and come back in
Bambi: enjoy Cat!
principalpoop: same as here stones
OtisP.Driftween: I'll trade you your liars for ours, Stones ;)
llanwydd: that's better
Bambi: same story, different day Stones ... sad but true.
Elayne: I have BP'ed.
Hemlock Stones: seems that our next PM will be yet another war mongering nuke loving toss pot
Elayne: 122 over 79 today, not bad but not great.
principalpoop: did you substract the chat induced pressure?
Bambi: that sounds revolting Tweeny lol
Bunnyboy: Bunnette laughed very loudly at the U.S. Plus segment in the 1999 Seattle show.
OtisP.Driftween: Too bad maggie Thatcher isn't available. She'd fit in perfectly with this crowd.
Elayne: Prinpoop, the chat *alleviates* pressure. :)
doctec: not bad at all e
llanwydd: I'll bet the next PM will be HRH
principalpoop: oops add add
Hemlock Stones: Maggie Thatcher would be a Moderate compared with this bunch of Hyenas
principalpoop: hugh hefner is english?
OtisP.Driftween: lol Stones
Bambi: or at least carry the bum...
llanwydd: lol
OtisP.Driftween: Isn't there a South American island you guys should be invading?
Hemlock Stones: (throws the hyeneas some poisoned sausages )
OtisP.Driftween: I love watching Prime Minister's Questions on C-SPAN. Wish we could get Bush to do that.
Hemlock Stones: (hyenas throw Stones a spell checker)
principalpoop: ralph ralph I'll take it
Bambi: you played Bedlam too Stones?
llanwydd: that might be bad PR for GWB
Hemlock Stones: trouble with PM questions is that its become a set piece, questions and answers arranged in advance and decisions taken behind closed doors
OtisP.Driftween: It would be a freakin' disaster, LL.
OtisP.Driftween: Not too good thinkin' on his feet, our Shrub.
Mudhead: If Bush had his way the rights would be the only ones left.
Hemlock Stones: Bedlam was luxury Bambi, i have a residency
principalpoop: on the QT the PR of the PM made him PO'd and his PA found his PB in the ahh enough
Bambi: sounds like here Stones
OtisP.Driftween: Sounds like our press conferences. The press had laid down like obedient little puppies.
Hemlock Stones: PB TD chay gay, its all shorthand for oppression PP
Bunnyboy: I still remember the first time I tried to listen to GIVE ME IMMORTALITY. It was on that online prerelease broadcast that Richard Fish hosted in 1998, a few days before the launch.
Bambi: well, you'd never know it by the article from Friends of the Earth ... well stated items ... not at all like a resident of Bedlam ;-)
principalpoop: have any of your guys shot somebody in the face stones?
OtisP.Driftween: And the ones who would ask hard questions he doesn't call upon.
Bunnyboy: And...I had dialup. Oh, agony!
Hemlock Stones: trouble is PP we dont know which of their faces to shoot
principalpoop: I enjoy oppression, it makes my paranoia normal
Bambi: don't remind me about dialup Bunny lol
OtisP.Driftween: You and JL should put together a pamphlet on your magic tricks with dial-up.
Hemlock Stones: Paranoia ??? Luxury, we had it tough !
llanwydd: you can have my oppression, princep
OtisP.Driftween: The movie of 1984 is pretty good. Been watching it recently.
Bambi: We are still living that dialup crap ... despite Verizon supposedly being a partner of broadband to rural areas in the US
||||||||| It's 10:00 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| doctec - dead from pneumonia
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Hemlock Stones: we are living it here Tween
OtisP.Driftween: That's a great Python bit, Stones...
Bunnyboy: aw, doc!
principalpoop: I do impressions to, judy judy judy, you dirty rat, smile when you say that pilgrim
Bambi: poor doc ... phew monia
Mudhead: Sad thing is Bambi we're all payin $200 a month for trhem to provide rural service
||||||||| Catherwood steals into the room, and intones "Announcing 'doctec', also known as 'Nancy' -- the time is 10:00 PM" -- then he slowly retires back into the sitting room...
OtisP.Driftween: Do you have your GPS implant yet, Stones?
principalpoop: wb doc
Bunnyboy: Anybody ever see the 50's film of 1984, with Edmond O'Brien?
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
llanwydd: I tend not to see a film if I've read the book. I've read 1984
Mudhead: $2.00
Bunnyboy: He bounced back!
principalpoop: sure bunny wow
OtisP.Driftween: Jeeze, Mud.
doctec: sorry, we've been having problems with our cable internet connection lately
doctec: it comes and it goes...
Bambi: we are right behind you Stones ... *sigh*
Hemlock Stones: not yet Tween but you can be sure theyre workin on it
llanwydd: It was gary cooper who said "smile when you say that"
principalpoop: that is no fun doc
OtisP.Driftween: Nope, Bun. This is the one with John Hurt. He's good.
Bambi: I read and watch ... just not within the same month lol
Elayne: Well, Rob's given up on Double Indemnity.
Bunnyboy: I just realized the other day, 1956 saw the release of both THE SEARCHERS and THE CONQUEROR.
principalpoop: I cannot watch john hurt in anything after alien
porgie: .
Elayne: He couldn't deal with the story quirk of them having an apartment door that opened outwards instead of inwards. Geez, talk about nitpicky!
principalpoop: without staring at his chest
Bunnyboy: Talk about sublime-to-ridiculous.
Bunnyboy: END OF FILM
porgie: .
Bambi: and the birth of ah,clem
doctec: cable service was the worst this past tuesday - connection wouldn't hold for more than a few seconds at a time. yeaterday better, today better still - interruptions average once an hour or so
OtisP.Driftween: Some darned good flicks came out of the 50's despite the strangeness of the times morally.
doctec: and they are brief
Bunnyboy: tween: Yes, I've seen parts of the Hurt film. I've always been a fan of him.
Bambi: sheesh doc .... that's sad
doctec: cinematic experience ruined by carpenter's mistake - film at 11
Hemlock Stones: i remember the fifties Tween, rainbows were black and white and thunder was in mono
llanwydd: there were some good films in the 50s but I noticed recently there wasn't really anything else good in the 50s
Bunnyboy: poop: No ELEPHANT MAN?
Bunnyboy: No SCANDAL?
principalpoop: Never saw it, nope
Bambi: William Hurt did you say?
Bunnyboy: poop: Oh, is it because of his...ehrm, EXIT in ALIEN?
Bunnyboy: The spoof in SPACEBALLS will cure ya.
principalpoop: nope doc
OtisP.Driftween: My Mom and I were talking about how hard it was get Rosie The Riviter to put on an apron and stay at home.
principalpoop: I saw spaceballs
doctec: oh wait - john wasn't in tunnel vision :-)
Bambi: and don't say the "b" word or the "t" word
llanwydd: the basic black of daily life
Mudhead: It was easier than gettin her clothes off
OtisP.Driftween: Quite, LL...
doctec: yes, i love the alien reference in spaceballs
Bunnyboy: doc: Yeah, that's Belzer. No, wait! ; )
doctec: "...oh no, not again!"
Hemlock Stones: dont forget the Grey , llanwyd, there was lots of that
doctec: bb: lol!
Bunnyboy: Proctor! Procter Silex, that's it!
llanwydd: grey, stones?
principalpoop: betty should have been skinny in the flintstones film
Bambi: red and yellow, black and white....and don't forget the gray .... just doesn't rhyme very well lol
Bunnyboy: poop: Yeah, but CGI wasn't that advanced, then. ; )
Bunnyboy: I keed! I keed! Rosie is a fine performer.
llanwydd: I'm just glad I was young in the 70s. It was a good time
Bambi: CGI wasn't much of a gleam in it's creator's eye at that time was it?
principalpoop: was hurt in CGI too?
llanwydd: especially for music
doctec: no, just disfigured
Dexter Fong: ;
OtisP.Driftween: Good British bands, anyway. You can have disco.
llanwydd: saw some great concerts in the 70s
Bambi: that depends on whether you were driving age llanwydd ... gas lines weren't all that much fun in the 70s
principalpoop: the 70s?
doctec: was shooting pool at bar last night, someone cued up a couple of old ELP tunes i hadn't heard in eons
OtisP.Driftween: Like Bobcat Goldthwait says, "Not too many folks are saying, gee wouldn't it be great if KC and the Sunshine Band got back together"?
llanwydd: I was old enough to drive, but didn't have my own car
doctec: 'lucky man' and something from 'trilogy'
Mudhead: it was hard findin a job...Where can I get a job Mr President?
Hemlock Stones: i just heard about Guns and Roses selling tickets as text messages on cell phones instead of paper, is this progress ?
OtisP.Driftween: Loved ELP & Yes. Still do. Lot;s of good Euro prog rock bands. Genesis of course as well.
Dexter Fong: Tween: Got news for you, they are back together and playing a casino in AC
||||||||| It's 10:10 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| cpfirezine - dead from pneumonia
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
principalpoop: I skipped from 68 to this president bush, did I miss anything?
Mudhead: Saw ELP at Yale Stadium
OtisP.Driftween: Lol, Dex. Don't doubt it...
Bambi: Dr. Memory!
Mudhead: Rocked out
Bunnyboy: aw! Bye, Chris!
doctec: who here remembers gentle giant? one of my all time faves, never really got their due.
Bambi: wow, quite a phew monia season
llanwydd: yeah, Yes was the greatest. saw them three times
OtisP.Driftween: Saw the Brain Salad tour as well in D.C.
Mudhead: nah, theyre still lyin at us
principalpoop: gentle giant was huge
Bambi: not much ;-)
OtisP.Driftween: Saw Gentle Giant w/The Strawbs in Phoenix. Great group. Very complex music.
Bambi: gentle giant ... yes of course
llanwydd: I never even heard gentle giant until the 21st century
Bunnyboy: and King Crimson
doctec: only group i knew who could figure out how to take a twisted r. d. laing poem and set it to music
Bambi: Brain Salad Surgery
Elayne: I've never heard of Gentle Giant.
principalpoop: I talk to the wind
Bambi: oh, wait ... that was gentle ben lol
OtisP.Driftween: Folk rock, I guess you'd call it.
doctec: e: i'll have to 'make you a tape' (i.e. make some mp3s for you) sometime
OtisP.Driftween: Liked Steeleye Span also.
Hemlock Stones: R D Lang tied me in knots Doctec
Elayne: Ooh, thanks Tom!
principalpoop: not sure what to call them
principalpoop: folk rock, fits the bill
Elayne: Robin played me a Steeleye Span version of Buddy Holly's "Rave On" earlier this evening.
Elayne: He's having great fun with his iTunes and iPod nowadays.
doctec: i always felt that gentle giant defined the term 'progressive rock' in a manner more fitting than many bands that were lumped in that category
OtisP.Driftween: Bet it's good, E...
Elayne: It's, um, interesting.
Bambi: R D Lang may not be good medicine for Elayne if it can tie Stones in knots
doctec: tell Robin I'm an iPod/iTunes fanatic these days as well
Hemlock Stones: luckily they were slip knots Bambi so i escaped
Elayne: Tom, he said he's not surprised to hear that. :)
principalpoop: I agree doc, the label progressive has been abused
llanwydd: I like gentle giant except for derek shulman's screaming
Bunnyboy: Can anybody tie their stones in a knot? And if so, GOOD GOD, WHY?
doctec: e: lol
doctec: bb: "because we can!"
Elayne: If we ever get up to see you, he'll bring all his little iPod accessories...
Bambi: lol stones
principalpoop: I saw that video, and a guy who, oops wrong chat
Hemlock Stones: after a short exploration of music forms, progressive became little more than very loud duelling guitar bands
doctec: (same as "why climb mt. everest?" ... "because it's there!")
llanwydd: Yes always did their own thing, stones
doctec: i haven't accessorized my iPod all that much - just have a hard shell case for it, and an iTrip so i can listen to it in the car over the fm radio
principalpoop: I liked the guy tapping his guitar on the mike to get the full range of sounds from his instrument
Hemlock Stones: lol PP
Elayne: Our iTrip doesn't work, we can't get a "between" station where we live.
OtisP.Driftween: iTrip looks like a great idea. Somebody got smart there.
doctec: e: however... i *do* record large segments of music from the kcrw music feed on an occasional basis, and load them in my iPod - let's me feel like i'm in santa monica while driving the streets of milford, connecticut
Elayne: He has these speakers called iFusion that we used on our last car trip.
principalpoop: needs a new name, iSkip perhaps
Bambi: mental detectors lol ... these guys are great! gotta love 'em
Mudhead: You can get a cassette adapter for $2.00 Elayne
Elayne: Nah, IHOP would sue, iSkip is too close to it. :)
Bunnyboy: I gotta go play with the doggies. Nite, folks!
Elayne: Cassettes, Mudhead? What are those? :) :)
Mudhead: cya bb
doctec: yeah, iTrip's effectiveness is dicey in large metropolitan areas
Elayne: Bye Bunnyboy!
principalpoop: Ihop is taken, I thought of it lol
OtisP.Driftween: bye bun...
llanwydd: nite bb
principalpoop: hiphop bunny
Bambi: iSkip to my iLoo
Dexter Fong: Night Bun
doctec: i want to either have my car stereo modified to allow a direct line connection, or just get a new one altogether. most new in-dash car stereos have an 'aux' input these days.
Bambi: night Bunny
doctec: nite bb
Elayne: Rob says he'd like to plug it in directly, but he doesn't want to fool around with the back of the car radio (I don't even know how he'd access it).
principalpoop: Iwish
Hemlock Stones: Cassettes are like CDs Elayne only they last longer
llanwydd: more msn trouble. I'm going to have to change my identity
||||||||| Catherwood says "10:20 PM, time for SOMEONE to leave!", grabs Bunnyboy by the collar and gives 'em the old bum's rush out the door
doctec: it's not an easy modification to do yourself, though i suppose it's feasible
principalpoop: do not pick me llan
doctec: probably depends on the make and model of the car stereo unit
Mudhead: Elayne it pluugs into your iPod and then uses your cars cassette player
||||||||| llanwydd1 enters at 10:20 PM as Catherwood takes their hat and goat and runs off to the Hat Pack Annex.
llanwydd1: that should do it
Elayne: No, it's not worth it, the iFusion worked fine. And its battery lasted the whole trip.
Bambi: ok, see you on the flip-identity llanwydd
doctec: e: does your car have a cassette deck in it?
Bambi: llanwydd is beside himself
principalpoop: who will you be when you come back llan?
Elayne: Mudhead, my car doesn't have a cassette player. As Rob says, "that would be too easy."
Mudhead: true
Elayne: The only way to connect it directly is to get to the back of the stereo where the "aux" connector presumably is.
Elayne: And that's a pain.
Mudhead: On the good side, if you have a Best Buy, they can do it
Elayne: He knows about doing it, but it's not something he's about to fool around with.
principalpoop: in australia?
llanwydd1: problem was I couldn't get rid of my PMs and had to surf through them every time I tried to send
doctec: lili's car has one, i gave her the cassette interface i used to use in my old van to play cds from a portable cd player - the cassette interface works great for lili in her car with her iPod
Bambi: any little FM transmitter would would ... just plug it into the output of the iPod and tune in a station
Elayne: Alas, not an option for us. But it's okay, during my half-hour commute I mostly listen to *gasp* terrestrial radio.
Mudhead: theres no bw in NY,NY
Elayne: There's a pretty eclectic rock station in my area, that's the one to which I'm usually tuned.
Bambi: get one before they are outlawed too (fm transmitters)
doctec: bambi: the problem with the fm transmitters is that they are underpowered and can't fight off all the stations that crowd the dial in large metropolitan areas
Mudhead: its really only a problem in big metro areas
doctec: i know, i tried playing my iPod thru my iTrip transmitter on my last trip to NYC - it was useless.
Elayne: http://www.1071thepeak.com/
Bambi: yeah, we don't live in the city ... I forget about the challenges for city dwellers
Elayne: I've "brought home" so many songs from listening to that station, I'm supplying about half of Rod's iTunes purchases now.
llanwydd1: got mail. brb
llanwydd1: spam again
Elayne: Oops, "Rob," not "Rod." Fingers not obeying brain now.
Bambi: l
Elayne: Best go.
principalpoop: ok llan, or whatever your real name is swami
Mudhead: gnite Elayne
OtisP.Driftween: You're putting music together for Mr. Serling?
Elayne: Bye all!
||||||||| At 10:25 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, Elayne!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
principalpoop: good luck E, glad things going good
Bambi: night Elayne!
principalpoop: oops fast E
Dexter Fong: Night Elayne
Bambi: that sneaky Rocky Rococo
OtisP.Driftween: Gotta be goin' myself. Things to do in the morning. Be well and happy, all...
Hemlock Stones: he even stole my pickle Bambi
llanwydd1: you know when he's around by the smell of anchovies
||||||||| "Hey OtisP.Driftween!" ... OtisP.Driftween turns, and sees Bradshaw approching with the handcuffs, and is dragged away, screaming "it's only 10:27 PM, I don't have to go yet!"...
Dexter Fong: Night Tween
doctec: zip and she's gone
principalpoop: night tween, have a super week
llanwydd1: nite tween
Hemlock Stones: ok good to see you Tween take care till next time
principalpoop: who got the brown paper bag?
Bambi: Stones...that's terrible!
Bambi smiles
Hemlock Stones: i recycled it PP
Bambi: Night Tweeny!
llanwydd1: nite tween
klokwkdog: by tween
principalpoop: I recycle too
doctec: i've got to take off as well gang - see yaz next week, grid willing
klokwkdog: nite dt
Mudhead: ni doc
Dexter Fong: Take care Docccc
doctec: nytol (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................
llanwydd1: see you next week doc
principalpoop: good luck doc
||||||||| At 10:29 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, doctec!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
Merlyn: bye doc
Bambi: night doc and lili
||||||||| It's 10:30 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| porgie - dead from jaundice
||||||||| llanwydd - dead from intense demonic possession
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Hemlock Stones: TTFN Doc
llanwydd1: nite doc
principalpoop: rocky again
principalpoop: jaundice and intense demonic possession
Bambi: wow, porgie's dead and and I didn't even see him come in!
llanwydd1: didn't anbody notice the anchovies?
llanwydd1: he's not going to do that to me when I leave
Bambi: and he's so yellow
Mudhead: Ive got a solution
Mudhead: 1.5% solution
principalpoop: anchovies? I thought it was patouchi or something like that
llanwydd1: not quite the solution I expected
Mudhead: I'll leave and Rocky will follow me
Mudhead: gnite dear friends
Bambi: GMIOGMD ... great stuff
principalpoop: mud, good luck
klokwkdog: clocks with hands...
Dexter Fong: Night Mudski
||||||||| Catherwood says "10:32 PM, time for SOMEONE to leave!", grabs Mudhead by the collar and gives 'em the old bum's rush out the door
llanwydd1: It's patchouli on the 2Places album. Anchovies on the 3Faces album
principalpoop: C and rocky in cahoots
Hemlock Stones: brb
Bambi: yeah, but 1.5% of what Mudhead ... that's the question ;-)
principalpoop: ok stones
Bambi: night Mudhead
klokwkdog: well, if you're not part of the solution...
klokwkdog: ...you're part of the precipitate
llanwydd1: not that stupid eldridge cleaver quote
principalpoop: you are part of the, gosh you write fast
Dexter Fong: I'm tired and gotta move the car so I'm outta here..thanks, as always, Bambi and Clem...good to have our soundtrack back =))
principalpoop: Hail Rita
llanwydd1: nite dex!
Dexter Fong: Hey Klok
principalpoop: have a super week
klokwkdog: hello Dex
Bambi: cool! night Dex till next time
Hemlock Stones: ok Dexter, take care now
principalpoop: wb stones
Hemlock Stones: ty PP
Bambi: great to be back too :-)
principalpoop )
klokwkdog: happy car move
Hemlock Stones: i have to come and go a lot due to a case of the Shuffles
Bambi: thanks Clem!
llanwydd1: are you in buffalo, stones
principalpoop: yes thanks ahh, Clem
Bambi: if you all get a chance please feel free to stop by for our show on Saturday evening, the JimmyLee and Bambi Show: http://www.cniradio.com
ah,clem: good night all :)
klokwkdog: great show, Clem!
principalpoop: cards night stones?
llanwydd1: nite clem
klokwkdog: night JL
Hemlock Stones: its Brooklyn this week llanwyd
principalpoop: night night keepers of the root
Bambi: btw: Stones ... our best to Honey and Saturday we will talk about that cool thing green cathedral ;-)
llanwydd1: I've shuffled off to brooklyn before
Bambi: night princep
Hemlock Stones: thanks for that Bambi, i do a lot of media work for FoE
Hemlock Stones: was hoping to meet Honey here but no sign so far
llanwydd1: nite prince[
principalpoop: toad awayyyy
Hemlock Stones: thanks once again Clem, excellent as always
principalpoop: everybody have a super week
||||||||| At 10:39 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, ah,clem!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
Bambi: well pass on any cool technology related stuff for our show and we'll be sure to give it airplay :-)
||||||||| It's 10:40 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Dexter Fong - dead from measles
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
llanwydd1: good grief! they're dropping like flies all of a sudden
Hemlock Stones: many thanks Bambi, will keep you posted
Bambi: cool technology to keep things 'green' are always great
klokwkdog: yeah, they take audio clips, too
Hemlock Stones: we have a lot of catching up to do i think Bambi
klokwkdog: green technology is cool...and recyclable...and non-radiating
Bambi: sure do Klok!
Hemlock Stones: my carbon footprint is only size five
Bambi: thanks for mentioning that ... Stones might like to do a piece on keeping it green :-)
klokwkdog: anyone in the first world really has a lot of 'splainin to do...
llanwydd1: what's with dex having to go park his car every time? Does he have a super huge driveway or something?
Hemlock Stones: very true Klok, and some parents are going to have a lot of explaining to do to their kids too
Bambi: likely has it in a temporary parking space during the day but needs to park it in it's less convenient overnight parking area ;-)
Bambi: yes, that too stones ... sadly
llanwydd1: aha
klokwkdog: CA just passed a "Vampire Slayer" act to require labeling of power off "standby" energy consumption on consumer goods
Bambi: just guessing on Dex's parking situation ... but he's in the city I believe
llanwydd1: that will cut down on rolling blackouts
Hemlock Stones: Klok, its amazing how much power is being used by those little red and green stnadby lights
Hemlock Stones: sorry looks like the CTS is cutting in again
klokwkdog: llan -- Dex lives in a brownstone in NYC. There are parking laws almost as complex as in the City, and Dex has to move his car and wife's to other side of the street after 10PM or something else it literally does get toad away
Bambi: well, we have a late supper ready ... gotta go ... great seeing you all. Stones if you want to do an audio segment send Clem an email jim@cniradio.com and he can give you the particulars.
klokwkdog: HS -- I think NiMH batteries will have to be labeled as to the amount of self-discharge....
klokwkdog: nite, Bambi! Wonderful show; happy dinner
llanwydd1: sounds like a drag, klok. I think I've heard of those laws
Hemlock Stones: ok thanks for that Bambi will be in touch, have a good week you two
llanwydd1: nite bambi!
Bambi: I thought it was like that Klok with Dex ;-)
Bambi: thanks Klok :-)
Bambi: you too Stones :-)
Bambi: nytol!
llanwydd1: a brownstone must be nice, though
Hemlock Stones: good night
klokwkdog: NYC is not car-friendly, llan. The auto insurance rates for minimal coverage are astronomical. It's almost cheaper to keep the car in NJ somewhere and take a train to it
klokwkdog: llan -- yeah, but it's got plaster walls
klokwkdog: llan -- plaster is laid on a metal lath, plays hell with the WiFi coverage
||||||||| It's 10:50 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| principalpoop - dead from the yaws
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
llanwydd1: I guess I've only seen the outside of brownstones
klokwkdog: llan -- the stone looks the same on the other side, just FYI
Hemlock Stones: sounds like living in a faraday cage klok
klokwkdog: It's mostly good solid burgher traprock from uplifts farther east in CT
llanwydd1: you must have seen them if you are in brooklyn, stones
llanwydd1: they are all over that borough
klokwkdog: HS -- I think Faraday finally died and they sold his cage for scrap...
klokwkdog: I think it was in the same lot as Dreadnaught
Hemlock Stones: sorry llan, am in the UK, only Nino gets lots if its east of NJ
Hemlock Stones: lost
llanwydd1: oh, then you were joking when you said you were in brooklyn
llanwydd1: I knew you were english but from what you said, I thought you were over here visiting
Hemlock Stones: llanwydd1: 10:20 Tacoma, Washington
klokwkdog: llan -- that's where the tracert that Merlyn uses stops. Maybe not enough hops or maybe that's where AOL manifests on this side of the pond tonight
klokwkdog: I don't know where my packet will go when it dies, but I'm sure it will change routers in Tyson's Corner...
Hemlock Stones: yes AOL has big backbone servers in NY so i often materialise in that part of the world, but some weeks i pop up in some very strange jerkwater towns
Merlyn: the site I use to map an IP to a geographic location can be wrong/out of date, too
klokwkdog: HS -- a suggestion: don't insult Jerkwater. Look at what happened with Tuttle, OK
llanwydd1: I've done a lot of serious thinking about attending either of two drama schools in NYC but I don't want to jump into anything I might regret
llanwydd1: I'd have to live in NJ and commute
klokwkdog: everyone who lives in NJ commutes
Hemlock Stones: we have Jerkwater towns here too Klok, i live near one
llanwydd1: It wouldn't be new to me. I know teaneck/hackensack pretty well
klokwkdog: do they sic MI-5 on people for a 404 error?
llanwydd1: my grandfather lived in teaneck and worked in NYC
klokwkdog: you got to get out past Red Bank to get halfway decent rents
Hemlock Stones: incidentally, if anyone wants to do audio sometime, you can get me on Skype or Messenger too.
Hemlock Stones: MI5 are pants, they only shoot innocent people
Hemlock Stones: especially if they have dark skin or look kinda foreign
llanwydd1: there are no innocent people
||||||||| It's 11:00 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Bambi - dead from jaundice
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
llanwydd1: this is a deadly place
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 11 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
llanwydd1: we're usually not depopulated by 11:00
Merlyn: the news drought continues
llanwydd1: what about the decaf?
Merlyn: it has a scorpion in it
llanwydd1: I hope not. that's a watersign
llanwydd1: catherwood, leave us a loan
||||||||| Catherwood walks over to llanwydd1 and mumbles "Stop typing gibberish, llanwydd1!"
Merlyn: ah well, I'm going to cut out too, folks
llanwydd1: good night merlyn
klokwkdog: we definitely are light on chatters so oily
klokwkdog: nite Merlyn
Merlyn: yep, maybe next wekk
klokwkdog: Watch 3 of the guys show up at midnite...
Merlyn: wick
||||||||| 11:05 PM -- Merlyn left for parts unknown.   (Entry from Nick Danger's "Idiots I Have Been Paid To Follow").
llanwydd1: 3 of the 4 or 5
llanwydd1: I hear that proctor is the only one who has never stopped in here
klokwkdog: I've only seen 2 of them myself. Wonder why no Proctor?
klokwkdog: Maybe he's not a computer person; if we had call-ins more often, he'd show
llanwydd1: I met proctor once. he was very friendly
klokwkdog: he seems like a real nice guy
llanwydd1: he told me about the meaning of the name Firesign Theatre, which I didn't know at the time
klokwkdog: well, I think I'll go catch the BBC news present the truth about the world...and (sigh) the latest on US entertainment celebrities...
klokwkdog: are we Los Angeles-izing the world or what?
llanwydd1: see you next week klok
klokwkdog has never figured out the meaning of Firesign Theater ;-)
klokwkdog: but I'm still trying
klokwkdog: night everyone
llanwydd1: still here, stones?
klokwkdog has been occupyng HS on the backchannel ;-)
Hemlock Stones: yes still here llan
llanwydd1: I have to stay up late so I can tape "Ivan the Terrible" on tv
klokwkdog: away i go then
Hemlock Stones: but will have to hit the sack v soon, the shuffles has worn me down today
klokwkdog: (i heard he was a bad guy)
||||||||| Catherwood says "11:11 PM, time for SOMEONE to leave!", grabs klokwkdog by the collar and gives 'em the old bum's rush out the door
llanwydd1: I don't think we have shuffles here in the states
Hemlock Stones: good night klok
Hemlock Stones: i think its also called Montezumahs Revenge as well
llanwydd1: I caught a bad cold in bristol though
Hemlock Stones: or was it the Aztek Two Step
llanwydd1: actually I think I caught it on the plane to london and it took hold in bristol
Hemlock Stones: airplanes are not healthy places i suppose cos they just recycle the air
llanwydd1: funny how store close so early in the afternoon in england
llanwydd1: things stay open till about 5 o'clock here
Hemlock Stones: its like the old Monty Python line llan, just when you get thirsty, the effing bar closes
llanwydd1: hadn't heard that one, stones
llanwydd1: well, I hope they have an all night chemist near you so you can get some pepto bismol or the like
Hemlock Stones: a lot of the first series of Python were wiped by dickheads at the BBC so maybe its not available any more
Hemlock Stones: am recoving now, i think it was a Pizza from Hell i had yesterday
llanwydd1: thought I had seen every python show
Hemlock Stones: you would be amazed and horrified to learn of the stuff the BBC management wiped to save space, the grey men in suits are completely brain dead
llanwydd1: sickest I ever got from food was in a chinese restaurant
llanwydd1: had the buffet and threw it up 10 hours later
llanwydd1: actually ended up in hospital
Hemlock Stones: my stomach is usually pretty resilient and i get over it fast but it was intense whilst it lasted but will avoid giving too much information for reasons of good taste
llanwydd1: it's okay, I get it
Hemlock Stones: sounds like e-coli llan
Hemlock Stones: biggest cause of food poisoning in the West is Bar B Qs
Hemlock Stones: we seem to have developed a liking for charcoal thats alive inside
llanwydd1: I don't do barbeques
llanwydd1: I go for curry
Hemlock Stones: me neither llan
Hemlock Stones: curries are cool cos nothing survives
llanwydd1: I like most english food but I don't like the way you guys do hamburgers
Hemlock Stones: i have had curries which could be classified as WMDs
llanwydd1: you put the onions in the meat before you cook it. we cook it first and then put things on it
Hemlock Stones: english food went downhill big style during the rationing in and after world war two, we were living on junk and goo and it was only in the sixties that things started to improve
llanwydd1: I like those kind of curries as well. fish curry is especially hot
